Wednesday Worst!

Afternoon babes! You’re in luck today. Thanks to this rain we’re getting pounded with here in NJ, I have time to update the blog today. Usually in the afternoons I try to take the baby for walks on the beach, she LOVES it outside. But alas, we’re stuck indoors today. So as she naps, I blog. Lovely. Let’s kick off this week’s entry with a little Wednesday Worst.

Starring: Rashida Jones. 

So… let me just start by saying, I don’t hate everything about this look. Well, I mean, maybe I do. I don’t hate the dress, and I don’t hate the blazer. But the fact that she paired these together? That I’m hating. The dress, as far as I can tell, looks absolutely gorgeous. It’s definitely something I would wear. Maxi’s are in, keyholes are in, black is always in. The dress is a DO. However, this ill-fitting blazer she has thrown over it? Makes the whole outfit look a tad…. frumpy? I think that’s the right word to describe this getup. Maybe if she chose a blazer of a different color? Something to add a little pop to the ensemble? Especially since she chose a dress that sweeps the floor and doesn’t show a hint of shoe, which could have added a little bit of versatility with the colors here. So overall, I like the pieces, but separately. When these two items are thrown together it looks sloppy and rushed to me. If the blazer was a little more tailored it could have worked but it’s not, so sadly this outfit is a major fail for me.

Are you watching the Olympics this week? So exciting isn’t it!? This is really the first year I’ve been super into it… I have even been going as far to record certain events I can’t miss. Sad! Being a swimmer I’m obsessed with the swimming and diving events. I get major anxiety watching the swimmers race and the divers approach the edge of the platform. So scary but I majorly envy these athletes. I can’t imagine the determination and dedication it takes to make it where they are. Major props, and of course, go USA! :]

Someone remind me to make time to post on Friday because I have two people who I want to post as my Friday Favs and it would be such a waste if I forget! K thanks, love you bye!

Wednesday Worst!

I know, I know… it’s been just about forever since I’ve posted anything on here. My apologies! It’s hard to keep up with a newborn and a blog. But alas, I will try harder! So let’s begin this whole ‘me trying harder’ phase with a little Wednesday Worst, shall we?

I am obsessed with the Real Housewives… of pretty much anywhere, except Atlanta. I can’t listen to them for more than 10 minutes before I have a migraine! Anywho, so yesterday was the reunion for the housewives of the OC and I have to just talk about something that has irked me for the past like… 6 seasons. I think Tamra is a pretty woman. I think she is a little weathered with age, but she’s pretty none the less! Unfortunately, however, for some reason the more she tries to dress herself up and look all glamourous and young, the more she looks (to me) like a drag queen. What is that all about? Take a gander…

I feel like she always does this for reunions… the hair is too big, the makeup is too dark… she just looks to me like she’s trying WAY too hard to look 10 years younger than she is. She’s trying to look like her gal pal Gretchen.

So what do you guys think? Does she look fabulous to you, or is this look kind of a miss? I wish she would tone it down a little bit because she truly is a beauty when she dresses it down!

Wednesday Worst!

It pains me to post this one… but I see just no other option this week. Out of all the looks I’ve seen, this is by far the worst. womp womp.

I want to not hate this so much… but I can’t. It’s entirely wrong in just every way. I want to say that maybe if it were a pant suit it wouldn’t be so bad, but I think even that wouldn’t save this look. Actually, it’s entirely possible it would make it worse. First of all, the look on her face, she looks like the Joker secretly plotting against Bat Man, but her hair looks fabulous, so that’s good. The high neckline and buttoned up blazer paired with shorts featuring some pasty legs? I just don’t like it Amy! Why not layer a coat of self tanner on those gams before sporting this look? Wouldn’t kill ya! I’m sorry Amy… I love ya, but this is a miss for me. :[

Wednesday Worst!

Well, first let me apologize for being MIA yesterday! I was actually bed-ridden for most of the afternoon until bed time with a torn muscle in my stomach. Not so much fun when your baby decides that’s exactly where she wants to sit all day and uses that muscle as a trampoline. Thankfully this morning I feel much better! I think it is due, in part, to the fact that Baby R has rolled over and is no longer resting solely on my torn muscle. Thank you, baby.

So anyway! Now that I can actually walk again, I didn’t want to miss a beat here. Let’s get right down to it. Here is my Wednesday Worst for this week:

I don’t care what anyone else has to say about this look, or Katy Perry herself because I know she has a billion die-hard ‘we will defend her honor til the death’ fans, but she looks like she walked right out of the movie The Craft  here. I know she is ALL about reinventing herself with different hair colors, like, once a month, I know that’s her MO… but the purple hair is not what bothers me. It’s the whole look together. If you say she looks good you are a liar. It’s too much, just way too much. The dark hair, the dark lips (yikes, first of all), the dark eye makeup, the floor length semi see-through dress, the rosary looking beads, and those weird pointy shoes? She looks like the wicked witch of LA. And I hate to say it because I like Katy Perry, I do! But let’s face it… every celebrity cannot look perfect all the time. And if they did, I wouldn’t have this glorious section of my blog entitled Wednesday Worst. It’s the circle of life my friends, we must accept it. And again, Katy Perry is known for doing some wacky, out of the box looks. She has provided plenty of looks over the years that could be a Wednesday Worst OR a Friday Fav.

To be honest, I’m kind of digging her purple hair. Out of all of the colors she has dyed it lately, this is one of my favorites. It’s bold, but doesn’t look cartoonish like her blue hair did. If she only toned everything else down for this look, maybe it wouldn’t be such a disaster in my book. For example, cut about 2 feet off the bottom of the dress to make it shorter and either tone down the lips or the eyes and this really wouldn’t be so terrible. But unfortunately Katy, this is a miss for me.

How do you guys feel? Are you just so used to her antics because it’s like, “oh it’s Katy Perry, she’s crazy! She’ll wear anything!” Or do you hold her to a higher fashion standard like apparently I do? hah. I’d love to hear your thoughts! Lemme know. :]

Friday Fav!

It’s that time of the week again and I know you all have been on the edge of your seats wondering who I’m going to praise this week. No? You haven’t? Oh well. I’ll show you anyway!

Claire Danes!

How awesome does she look in this sexy little neon number? As the world knows, neon is like the hottest thing right now. I am love, love, loving her in this neon pink dress! I love that it’s sexy enough to steal the show on its own and she didn’t overdo it with a ton of other accessories or accents. Just the right amount of boobage being shown, very understated jewelry, she didn’t go overboard with the makeup and yet somehow her eyes are still smoldering. I am drooling over this look! The girl looks hawt. Like back in her Romeo and Juliet days, makes me happy! I love a good comeback.

Friday Fav

So this is a new little thing I wanted to put in my blog weekly. Well, I’m going to try to keep up with it weekly. Here I am going to post my favorite looks from the past week or so. Let’s take a look at a couple of my favs this week!

First up…

Katherine McPhee. 


I love this look for a couple reasons. She is mixing and matching like 10 different trends that are so hott right now, and she’s doing it almost effortlessly! The bright colored blazer, the uneven hemmed dresses, the neon shoes, and the ombre hair. So many different trends on one person and she still looks great! I am personally loving the hot pink shoes, I kind of really want a pair. Like… now.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next up…

Olivia Palermo.

She can do no wrong in my book. She may have played a super bitch on MTV’s The City, but in the world of fashion she is an icon. Well, at least to me. I mean seriously, she’s wearing jeans and a button up with her hair pulled back into a loose bun and looks flawless. She adds a pop of color here and there with her gorgeous blue bag and stunning purple and green shoes. The sparkly blazer? An added bonus. The girl looks good, always, and she knows it. I want this outfit. The whole thing! Unfortunately I don’t think I could pull off half the things she wears but a girl can dream.
