Just a Casual Monday Look

I was showing these pictures to a girlfriend of mine last week and our exact conversation went; “is that a body suit?” “Yup. And leather shorts.” “Oh. Casual.” “Just a typical look to run errands with the girls in.” And then we laaaaaughed and laughed.

Obviously I’m not taking my kids to school dressed like this. There aren’t many places I would go in this, really. However, every once in a blue moon I do enjoy a good night out that’s not at a local dive bar and this is most likely what you’ll find me wearing. Bodysuits have become my absolute favorite item of clothing. I legitimately cannot stop buying them. I think it’s becoming a problem. BUT GUYS. They’re the best! They make bodysuits that look like t-shirts now so they don’t have to be all fancy and flirty but you can get the t-shirt look without worrying if your crack is hanging out every time you bend or sit down and I LOVE THAT. Peace of mind.. that’s what I look for when I’m buying new clothes. God bless you, bodysuit trend. God bless you.

So it officially felt like fall this weekend and I think my days without pants and jackets are numbered. I realized over the past few weeks that summer really is my favorite season. I LOVE being able to wake up, throw on a bralette and little sun dress, flip flops and go about my day. Having to put thought and energy into my outfits regularly is exhausting. Anyway. Have a good week, babes!

Boho Romance

I have had this dress since early May and I’m just now getting it on the blog?! Criminal. If you follow my Instagram, then you have probably already seen it. I wore this 2 months ago when celebrating Kennedy’s birthday. I love the vibe of this dress; it is boho and romantic.

SHEIN DRESS c/o || RAY-BAN SHADES

I pretty much only wear this dress either barefoot, or with my favorite summer sandals from Old Navy. Which I don’t think have made it to the blog yet… which is surprising to me! I basically never take them off. Oh well, I’m sure you’ll see them soon. Anyway! I kind of like to frolic around in this dress and pretend I’m a hippy, ha. I will say, if you ever purchase anything from Shein, play close attention to the customer comments!! EVERYONE said the sleeves were really, really tight… but I thought… well they couldn’t possibly be that tight! But boy, was I wrong! The dress was actually unwearable at first, I couldn’t move my arms and I felt like they might really fall off from lack of blood flow, LOL. However, I really loved the way it looked, so I decided to cut a little slit in each sleeve to loosen the elastic. After that it was perfection, so I’m glad I didn’t end up sending it back. But ya know, just a little shopping tip for their site! ;]

Road Blocks

So… as you may have noticed I have been flying under the radar in the blogging universe as of late. I won’t lie to you guys… I have completely lost my blogging mojo. I have had zero motivation to even sit down and write a post with content I already have. The mere thought of it exhausts me. However, oddly enough, I’ve had a lot of people reach out to me recently asking me where the hell my posts have been. It’s kind of touching, especially when you think no one really reads this thing. So, in all honestly, I don’t have my mojo back yet. But, I am working on it, and I’m going to look at this post as a fresh start! Enjoy. ;]

I was way sad because I had planned to wear this dress to a Metallica concert, but it didn’t arrive in time. Which ended up being totally fine because the concert was outside and it was miserably cold for May! This dress would have been perfect for the occasion though… so just imagine I wore it. Also! You should probably grab one for yourself because it really is the perfect dress to rock out in.

Listen guys I know I have an addiction to aviators but these are so badass! And they were only $22 at Zara. So I mean… obviously I had to have them. They make me feel like a cop, ha! Alright readers… I want to add some newness to my site, post more than just what I’m wearing every week. If there’s anything ya’ll wanna see on here, leave me some comments and let me know! I used to mess around with recipes every now and then (see the cook book section!) and DIY stuffs (search DIY for these fun projects) and I want to get back into all those things, so let me know what you want to see more of. Thanks, love you, mean it!

Another Kind of Two Piece

It’s almost officially summer, which means there’s going to be A LOT of two pieces all over the place. HOWEVER, I’m really feelin a different kind of “two-piece” lately. Behold; the matching set!

One of my favorite FAVORITE things about this outfit is that you can easily dress it up for a classy look a la the classic strappy heels and pearl necklace as seen above, or amp up the sex appeal with just the change of a few key accessories. I will be wearing it both ways this summer, I can promise you that!

IMG_9220IMG_9218IMG_9216IMG_9214

Out of everything I picked out on the Tobi website, this was my favorite outfit. (Remember the tuxedo dress and jumpsuit?) I will say the pants are a little tight in the upper thigh area, but the rest fit well. If you’re feeling pretty badass this would be an excellent look to wear to a work event. Maybe not the office, but an after hours event? Go for it! ;]

Plunging Plum

In keeping with the theme this year, I’m showing another risqué little number on the blog today! I’ve been all about the tuxedo dress trend, and add the backless, plunging neckline to it… pure perfection!

Alright I’ll say it first…. I should probably invest in an iron. Mama Mia.. ha! Don’t worry I actually own one.. and when I wear this dress out for reals I will fo’ sho’ make sure it gets ironed. That’s what happens when you order something online, and it arrives in a bag, and you just can’t wait to wear it. But I mean, look at it… can you blame me?

IMG_7516IMG_7511IMG_7509IMG_7524

My favorite thing about this dress is the suspender detail on the back! For some reason I just love that strap. I can’t wait to wear this little number this summer. I really just have to find somewhere to wear it now… help! Side note! I’m thinking about selling a few (a lot!) of my things, including these shoes shown above. I just never wear them anymore, and I think they would make someone else very happy. :] If you, or anyone you know, wants some thangs, let me know!

More Florals for Spring

Disclaimer: my blog is about to OD on florals. I don’t know what it is because I am not usually one for the flirty, feminine print… but I can’t get enough of them this year! Maybe it has to do with my mood? When you’re a happier person you want to wear happier things… right? ;]

Remember a couple posts back when I was telling you guys about these Forever21 tank top bodysuits and how I bought them in 4 different colors… one of which was pure white and one (this one) that’s off white? I thought I was crazy at the time because they were SO similar, but it really was smart purchase! The off white color matches this skirt perfectly! A pure white tank would have looked way too bright and white with this outfit. I am pleased! I wore this to work a few weeks ago when we were lucky enough to have a warm day and now that the weather has taken a turn for the better I can wear it all the time!

IMG_6873IMG_6872IMG_6871IMG_6870IMG_6869

So! As a few of you may know… or have noticed…. I take most of my pictures in this location. My mom is my photographer (lolz) and honestly, we usually snap pictures REAL quick while she’s at work and has 15 free minutes to take them… so we run downstairs to the alleys by her office and shoot away. WELL, for so many reasons this has become my favorite place to take blog pics over the years, and I’m sad to say I won’t be able to shoot here much longer. As of a few months ago they have started tearing down all of the buildings in the area in order to start re-developing the city. Which, I guess, in the long run is great for the area, but now I’m losing all of my favorite landmarks to blog with. Peep that open window behind me in the last photo… my mom was curious to see what the inside of this abandoned building was like so she literally climbed inside, hah. I don’t think she saw anything very noteworthy.. probably just a lot of empty bottles and such. Ah, but that’s why I love my mom… she’s such an adventurer. ;]

Expect Nothing

I love wearing clothing with a personalized message.. maybe it’s the 90’s girl in me that just had to own a nameplate ring or necklace, ya know? This flannel came right off the rack from Forever21 a few weeks ago, so I’m quite certain about 18 thousand tweens are also wearing it right now which takes away from the “personal” message aspect.. but it sends a message just the same.

IMG_6392IMG_6388IMG_6369IMG_6366IMG_6353IMG_6351

When I bought this flannel I thought I would wear it a couple times here and there and I kid you not, I have not stopped wearing it since I bought it. I’m actually wearing it right now as I post this… for reals. Over the weekend I paired it with a different pair of black distressed jeans, a black plunging neckline bodysuit, and high top sneakers to attend a concert. This particular flannel is super warm, so I used it as kind of a jacket, and then wrapped it around my waist once I got to the venue as it was absurdly hot in there. Thank god the 90’s trends are a thing again.

IMG_6390IMG_6387IMG_6368IMG_6366IMG_6363IMG_6361IMG_6352IMG_6350

ALSO! We need to talk about this tank top bodysuit because I bought it in 4 different colors. It’s so comfortable and it seriously works with everything. I’ve worn them with skirts, jeans, sweats… literally everything. And believe it or not they were on sale for like $8 each. So yeah… it wasn’t hard to convince myself to buy several. Expect to see them on the blog A LOT the next few months!

Feeling Grey

Yesterday was the first day of spring and there is still slushy, dirty, gross piles of snow all over NYC. Yum! It doesn’t feel very springy yet…so I’m trying to be patient, but we have had a couple days here and there the past month where you could get away with bare legs and I took full advantage!

I love this dress because it’s insanely comfortable. I’m all about those t-shirt and sweater style dresses. This one in particular fits like a glove but it doesn’t suffocate me, ya know? What could be better than that? It was supposed to be warm the day I took these pictures… but when you get down by the beach it was FREEZING. Hence the weird faces in half these photos.. I was shivering, haha.

IMG_5424IMG_5422IMG_4939

I am HOPING (fingers crossed!) that is is almost time to ditch the pants and jeans and whatever else all together and wear nothing but skirts and dresses on the blog soon. That really puts me in my happy place. Happy spring, guys!
