Going Out with a Bang

I wore this outfit on my due date. I ran a few last minute baby errands with my husband and it was brutally hot out so I threw on this amazing BCBG dress and headed out for the day.

I am in love, L-O-V-E, with this dress! I bought it early in my pregnancy because it was a great frock to wear during cooler months since the fabric is a little heavier and its long sleeved. Honestly I think I’m going to try this on again in a month or two and see if I can pull it off it while I’m not pregnant, ha.

It’s pretty funny walking around in an outfit like this when people ask you when you’re due and you say “today.” The looks I got were heart warming.. The very same looks I got when I wore a bikini on vacation during my first pregnancy ha ;] I went into labor just 24 hours later! But I’ll have a full post on that coming soon of course!

My Emoji Outfit

You know that saucy little red dancing girl emoji? When I wore this outfit I felt like the human version of her. Saucy and ready to dance! Nevermind the fact that I was quite literally ready to pop at any moment. I just wanna dance!

My bump is so huge now it’s almost comical compared to how small the rest of my body is. When I was pregnant with Charlotte my stomach looked absolutely absurd but it fit the rest of my body, ya know? This is just silly.

image-55 image-56 image-57I love the detail on this necklace! The little red roses remind of Alice in Wonderland and I swoon over the alternating gold and black chain. This is the perfect outfit to give you a little boost in confidence when you’re 39 & a half weeks pregnant, like I am here. No matter how small you are elsewhere, when you’re carrying around this much extra cargo in front, it starts to become a little…. depressing, ha. Dear feet, I’ll see you again soon. I miss you. Love, me. When you need a little pep in your day, do as I do, dress up! Wear what makes you feel good and go out and flaunt your bump. You’ll feel so much better.

Skater Skirts fo’ sho.

The weather in New Jersey has been so back and forth recently. One day it’s nearly 70 degrees and I’m in a dress and sandals, the next it’s 40 and cloudy and I don’t want to leave the house. On those nicer days, I can’t wait to pack up my little one and enjoy the warm weather outdoors somewhere while it’s here!

The ‘Michael Jackson’ jacket is really growing on me, ha. It is proving to be an excellent jacket for spring! It’s heavy enough to keep me warm when I’m not wearing a ton of other layers, but it’s light enough to not overwhelm me when the sun is burning bright! I’m also thoroughly enjoying this skirt from ASOS! I love that it’s not tight, but full and feminine. Just be careful wearing a skirt like this on a windy day… I had quite a few unwelcome Marilyn Monroe moments!

Isn’t my boog such a little cutie? We were really embracing the wind on this day, hah! One of those days when you just give up on trying to keep your hair looking well kept at all, it’s just not even worth it! ALSO! My Pink Blush Maternity giveaway ended yesterday, and although she’s already been contacted I wanted to publicly congratulate my winner, Jennie! I hope you enjoy your gift card and your fabulous new purchase! Thanks so much to everyone who entered!!

April Showers Bring May Babies

This past weekend my friends and family gathered at my house to throw me an adorable little baby Sprinkle! For those who are unaware, a baby sprinkle is like a baby shower, just for your second baby. One of my best friends offered to organize one for me, as she is the mother of two kids herself and knows how important it is to make sure mommies-to-be and the second babies are very much appreciated! (If you have children of your own, you know how much less exciting it can be when the second child is announced vs all of the excitement surrounding the first, hah. NOT for the moms, but for everyone else). So we had a quaint little brunch at my house and got to enjoy the gorgeous weather and relax a little bit! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the afternoon!

ALSO! Just a reminder, today is the very last day to enter my Pink Blush Maternity giveaway! This is another great opportunity to spoil a mommy-to-be in your life! It doesn’t have to be you that’s expecting! haha. Enter by clicking this link here: Win $25 to Pink Blush Maternity!

A Week in Leather || Day 7

It’s finally here! The last look in leather! I hope this set of looks has given you guys some outfit inspiration, as that has been my intention! haha And here we go with the final look. It’s a casual and comfortable, but the leather gives it a touch of chic!

First of all, let’s just take a minute to say hello to my new favorite accessory ever, these Ray Bans! One of my Valentine’s Day presents from the hubbs that I am obsessed with! I’ve had my eye on these for a long, long time now and they’re finally mine! HOORAY. IMG_0745 IMG_0748

This is my final look. I like pairing leather leggings with oversized, slouchy sweaters, and either sneakers or boots.  Nothing shown here is maternity, but loose enough to wear for a little while longer. I actually prefer to wear maternity clothes vs my regular wardrobe. I enjoy showing off my bump and love the way maternity clothes hug it. Maternity clothes also prove to be much more comfortable. I have a pair of jeans from Anthropologie I still fit in, and while they’re really cute and I can’t find maternity jeans quite like them to take their place, they’re not as comfortable as maternity jeans are. They can be like wearing jeans AND leggings at the same time… NOT jeggings… but jeans AND leggings…. you know what I mean? haha Well that’s all for now folks! Time to retire these leather leggings for a little while. ;]

Hats & Heels

My number one suggestion to pregnant women; embrace your belly! My first pregnancy I really fought buying maternity clothes. It is SO hard to find cute maternity clothes after all, and I was a young mom, I didn’t want to dress like an old maid just yet. But, when I finally caved and bought my first pair of elastic waist jeans I thought I had died and gone to fashion heaven. While they weren’t the most stylish clothes in the world, they were so comfortable it was insane. This time around I decided I was going to splurge a little on some better quality maternity clothes and I can mix and match with the pieces I acquired last time.

IMG_0140 IMG_0139Believe it or not, every single item of clothing pictured here is maternity! I splurged on J Brands from a Pea in the Pod and snagged this sweater on sale because I figured it would look great even when I’m not pregnant. Maternity jeans with elastic where the pockets should be, rather than with the extra stretchy fabric that goes over the bump are great for the beginning of your pregnancy. They’re great for when you really really just cannot squeeze yourself into your regular jeans any longer, no matter how hard you try (I used an elastic band to close my jeans for a long time during my first pregnancy). Your belly is still small enough to not necessarily need all of the extra support and these sit under the bump comfortably.

IMG_0150_2 IMG_0153_2 IMG_0154 IMG_0157 IMG_0163I’m sporting another new baby here, Chanel. A birthday & Christmas present from the hubs. I was sooooo against having a white bag for a long time, especially a Chanel, because I know how dirty they can get. However, when my husband took me to the store and told me to pick one out, I instantly gravitated towards the white one. (After, of course, I picked out a 29 THOUSAND dollar red alligator skin flap bag… whoops…maybe next year, right babe? HA). It looked so pretty with what I was wearing at the time and all I could think of was how amazing it will look in the winter AND the summer. Had to have it.

A lot of older women, or women who have never been pregnant, find it crazy that women like me wear heels throughout my pregnancy. However, let me just say two things. 1. I will never ever give up my heels, ever. I don’t walk around in 6 inch Louboutins every day, but if I am going somewhere where I have to dress up, 9 months pregnant or not, I’m throwing on SOME variation of heels. And 2. Sometimes pregnancy can take a toll on your lower back and believe it or not, the extra support heels can give makes a crazy difference. If you’re feet don’t swell like Kim K’s (that chick should not have been in heels as long as she was) they can actually be much more comfortable than flats! Espadrilles in the summer are a god send! IMG_0182_2

I have a video on my YouTube channel about the do’s & don’ts of shopping for maternity clothes & I’ll share that with ya’ll tomorrow! This time around I’m definitely taking my own advice, and hopefully it can help some of my readers out as well! Until next time, kisses!

Weekend Look

Well this past weekend was St. Patrick’s Day, and how did I celebrate? With a taco and fajita night! Just screams Irish pride right? Of course. So I only went to my cousin’s house for a taco and game night, but I haven’t been able to do anything in forever that didn’t involve wearing a football jersey so I figured I’d dress up a little bit. I’ve been doing yoga so my balance is on point lately and I decided I’m wearing heels while I still can. I’ll be wearing them to the hospital probably hah.. Peep my look.

From this angle you’d never even know I had a big ol’ baby bump…. buuuuttttt…

voila! There it is!
Outfit:
Blazer – Express

Jeans: Indigo Rein
Booties: Marc Fisher

Bib Necklace: H&M
Bracelets: (Left hand)  Skull bracelets in white and gold and black and silver; Molly & ZoeTiffany’s Silver Ball – (right hand) wrap bracelet from Aruba

You will recognize my hair from my how to curl your hair tutorial! I spiced it up by doing a deep center part instead of my usual. I also got new eyeshadow this weekend, which I am obsessed with! Take a closer look at how I did my eyes.

I used Midnight Cowboy all over my lid from lash line to eyebrows and then worked Scratch (both by Urban Decay) into the corners. I added a little solid black into the outer corners and there ya have it. Scratch was the new shade I got this weekend. After I took this picture I added a little bit of my Just Bitten lip stain in Flame from Revlon and that pretty much completed the look.

It’s pretty funny… I’ve always wanted a pair of those bright blue jeans and I wait til I’m pregnant to buy them, hah. So there ya have it, folks. A pregnant girl’s guide to looking somewhat presentable on the weekends. How do you think I did?
