Last week on the blog I showed you guys my family photos that we shot recently to celebrate mine and Matt’s 5th year wedding anniversary. If you missed them, check it out here and here! I was fortunate enough to be gifted the stunning lace dress by the ladies at Lulu’s, but to my surprise they threw in another dress just in case we had time to shoot a second look. Unfortunately we didn’t… wah! But I was able to wear the dress later, just for you guys! It is stunning and perfect and I could not wait to photograph it!

I nearly died when I opened my package from Lulu’s and saw this dress. Originally I had planned to wear this one to take our family photos, which you can kind of tell from the matching dress Kennedy wore. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a pleated dress for Charlotte in time to match, so I opted for the white lace dress instead so we looked crisp in the same color, but different styles and textures. This dress though, I am in love with the soft pink color and the gold built-in necklace to hold it all together. It’s way more feminine than what I’m used to wearing which is why I chose to pair it with a leather jacket, black aviators, and a skull clutch…of course.
Don’t you just LOVE the movement of this dress? It’s so gorgeous! However I will say that it is not designed for petite girls. I’m about 5’4″ and even with heels on I continually found myself stepping on it or having to hike it up past my knees to walk. But it’s kind of one of those dresses that is so amazing you just deal with it, ya know? I mean… you could get it hemmed but I’m lazy. You can also see in a few photos above that we had a few expert photo bombers during this shoot. I seriously always forget that there’s other shit going on around me when I’m doing blog shoots, haha. The other day I was taking pictures against an office building and I was leaning against the wall and turned my head and there was a guy sitting at his desk about 2 feet away from me staring at me like “wtf is happening here?” ha! Forever cracks me up. Anyway! Special thank you to Lulu’s for being so damn amazing! And to Drew (my photographer) for teaching me all the little things about cameras and photography as we do this. He’s such a great teacher and obviously has a great eye!
