Whoops, it’s been a minute! Sometimes, guys, life actually does get in the way of blogging. Last week my children had a terrible stomach bug, and then I got it! And then my husband got it… so it was a long, long week of feeling like death and needless to say, little got done, especially blogging. HOWEVER! It’s a new week, and with a new week comes a new outfit. I wore this outfit into the city last month for my birthday on a particularly warm evening!
Fun fact about the coat I’m wearing… it’s not just a coat, ha. When I found this romper I really wanted to wear it with a long black faux fur coat, however, I don’t own one nor could I find one anywhere! It looked weird with just the jacket so I layered on a fur vest to see how it looked and I was pleased. Definitely got the job done, while adding a little bit more warmth, and if you’re an avid reader of my blog you know I obviously love me some versatile pieces.
My 28th birthday was probably one of my favorite birthdays ever in my adult life, haha. Matt organized the most amazing day in the city, and it was about 60 degrees (on December 15th… in New York, seriously), and then he surprised me with an intimate dinner at my favorite restaurant with my best friends! I’ve never been surprised before, it was so fun! It’s going to be hard to beat next year.
So it is (almost) officially fall! Maybe not by the calendar, but definitely by the weather. I’m kind of sad, I was really into my summer wardrobe this year, ha. On the other hand, who doesn’t love a good pair of boots and some layers, right?

Fall is all about layering, especially early on in the season. There is nothing worse than waking up in the morning to freezing cold temps, getting dressed, and going about your day only to have the temperature rise about 10 degrees and sweating like a pig for the rest of the day. Layer up in the morning so you can dress accordingly throughout the day without looking… well… inappropriate! This top is amazing because the tie around the waist adds a little flare to an otherwise regular black shirt. Don’t even get me started on this sweater. It’s perfection.
These boots are my everything! On our anniversary trip I had the choice between these boots and my Valentino rock stud pumps. Here’s the deal, about 3 years ago I found a pair of those Valentino pumps and I wanted them so bad! Unfortunately, I opted for a pair of Louboutin’s instead and have been regretting the decision ever since. As was the case with the boots. I found them at the Stuart Weitzman store, however, they only had them in charcoal. I desperately wanted black. So I went to the Valentino store and saw the rock studs in pink… trying to decide between the boots and the pumps was basically like Sophie’s Choice. I ultimately chose the Valentino’s, but talked about the boots non-stop since we left the store. About a week later, I can home to a gigantic box waiting for me on my front porch. My husband found the boots in black and surprised me. See… I knew I kept him around for something! ;]

Hi my loves! It’s been a while, huh? Things have been so busy this past month or so. Getting ready for the holidays is a big job around here. So anyway! Over the weekend I had an amazing opportunity to walk in a fashion show for a wonderful cause! 100% of the proceeds went to a great charity, (benefiting victims of Hurricane Sandy which we all know is very close to my heart!) BOOM. Who doesn’t love that? I modeled for a friend of mine, Tina, who owns a fabulous boutique in Little Silver. (I’ve mentioned her store before). She has pretty amazing clothes and accessories and when she asked me to walk in her show I legit jumped at the chance. I was lucky enough to model with two of my best friends which made the night even more fun! Here is recap of the show in pictures. Enjoy!

The fashion show was so much fun! All of the other models were super sweet and we all had a great time. I walked through the show itself at lightning speed because I was nervous… not the modeling debut I had always dreamed of, haha! HOWEVER, just having a baby less than 6 months ago and still being asked to walk in a fashion show Made me feel just lovely… can’t lie! I wore a sparkly gold peplum top and black leggings with my own black louboutins. I am obsessed with peplum this holiday season! And the added bling from the gold sequins? So amaze.
Also… last week I had the wonderful luck of getting to see Train live at a very private performance in Sea Bright! I danced on stage with the band. Pat signed a onesie for Char! Pure amazingness! I’m going to post more on that later this week.
