Remember my post on Monday talking about smarter shopping? One of my favorite things to do is invest in pieces with versatility and wearability. What I mean is, they can easily be worn from day to night, dressed up or down, with just a few key changes. This full skirt from Closet London may not look like a day time pieces at first, but paired with a simple tank top and sandals it’s an easy look to pull off.

Again, this is a great item to wear to work! My office is more on the casual side so I’d probably wear it this way, if you have more of a fancy schmancy office environment you could opt for a crisp button up or blouse. And you may want to throw on a cropped leather jacket now that the weather is starting to cool off.
Side note! This skirt also has pockets! Holler. Pockets just make life easier, don’t they? So next week I’ll be showing you guys how I change this look up from office appropriate to out on the town. Check back!
I’ve said it over and over and over again, these boots give me LIFE. I think they’re probably the best thing Matt’s ever bought for me, and definitely the one gift I’ve actually gotten the most use out of. I did ask for another pair in another color for Christmas but I didn’t get it.. womp womp! HAH. I’ve tried on other over the knee boots but NONE have been as comfortable as these. I’ve walked laps around New York City in these boots, spent long nights at concerts standing and dancing the entire time in these boots, you name it, I’ve done it and I have not felt the need to complain once yet. Splurge on these if you splurge on anything in your life. They are so worth it.

I wore this outfit last month when we went into Asbury to see Grace Potter perform at the Paramount Theater. As I said, I was standing and dancing all night in these boots and did not have to limp back to my car after, hah.
I have so many flannel shirt dresses in my closet now. I love how comfortable and casual they are. They can also be worn open as a vest or buttoned up as a dress, as shown above. When it gets too cold I throw on leather leggings and ankle booties to create a different look that won’t freeze my butt off.
Earlier this week when I showed you guys what I wore to the Boy Meets Girl party I mentioned that I wanted to go a little more casual to this year’s Fashion Week events. Last year I put SO MUCH PRESSURE on myself to put together the most top notch outfits with my most expensive heels & bags and everything in between. After hours of romping around the city I was miserable and uncomfortable. I knew this year was going to be no different for anyone else, but personally, I wanted to enjoy myself.

I had no idea what I was going to wear when I RSVP’ed to Reward Style’s annual roof top party. I did know that every other blogger in the universe was going to show up dressed to the nines and beyond. I didn’t want to show up in sweat pants & sneakers, obvi, but I did want to be comfortable while looking like I did put some thought into my outfit. I stopped in my friends store, Uphoria Boutique in Little Silver, who always has the best staple pieces in stock. These comfortable midi length dresses were all over her store with different types of embellishments. I tried on about 5 different pieces but ended up going for this one based on the color alone. I am a sucker for a deep red hue. I also loved the details on the back of the dress, which I forgot to snap a picture of. The back of the dress had a racerback fit but offered the illusion that it was layered with another dress underneath.
It ended up being an extremely hot day so there was no need to carry around my leather jacket, unfortunately. I think it actually really completes the look I was going for, ha. The party was a blast except for a quick downpour that forced about 100 girls to huddle under a tiny little covering. On the bright side, It was a great way to meet fellow bloggers.
I have yet to shoot the outfit I wore to the Lulu’s party a few nights earlier, but hopefully I can manage to get that together for you guys because I really loved that outfit too. Overall I had a blast during fashion week, but I am exhausted! I’m heading off to North Carolina with my best friend today for a little R&R and girl time to recoup! See you guys when I return!
When I threw this outfit on the other day my husband told me I looked like the woman on the Chiquita Banana stickers. At first I was offended but then I was like… well he’s not wrong, haha! What do you think? Should I throw a fruit basket on my head to complete the look?

So I mean… when wearing an outfit like this you obviously go and frolic in fields with your children, right? Because that’s totally what I did here. Charlotte is becoming quite the little helper. She’s even been interested in taking the photos herself lately which has been a lot of fun! I want to get her into as many things early on as I can. I also feel the need to mention that Matt and Charlotte picked out this shirt for me. They have great taste. ;]
Above I’m showing her my ‘signature pose’ as you may call it, ha! Then I’m holding her water for her as she “does her poses for the camera.” How quickly I became her assistant! She runs the show… seriously.
I picked up this skirt when I was picking out an outfit for my South Moon Under party. I knew I wasn’t going to wear it to that event but I had to have it in my life! It was beautiful and when I tried it on I felt so feminine. It’s the kind of skirt you can twirl around in. I wore it during the day with a more billowy white crop top and sandals but switched it up for the evening and added the Roman Luxe cuff. I feel like this skirt is extremely versatile; the kind of bottoms you can throw on a graphic t-shirt and denim jacket with for a more relaxed feel, or a lacy black top and strappy heels to really dress it up and that is why I’m obsessed with it!
