Those Santorini Vibes

My dream vacation is a trip to Greece. I want to see the entire country, ever little ancient bit of it. I’m part Greek on my mother’s side, and supposedly still have family there, so getting to Greece someday is on my bucket list. Until then, however, I’ll just wander around in this little Grecian inspired romper and play make believe.

Rompers hold a special place in my heart for the simple fact that they are one of the most comfortable things you can wear while still looking done up if you want to. During the summer my wardrobe is much more relaxed and less complicated; once I don’t have to stress over pairing layers anymore, I don’t. Rompers and sun dresses are the obvious choice in the warmer months requiring minimal effort but never slacking on the style.

Going through my closet I’ve noticed I have a ton of neutral pieces for the season, which is odd to me, as I’ve always loved brights and prints for the summer. I find myself more drawn to items that are comfortable and functional lately rather than statement making, as far as clothing goes. I think I’ll try letting my accessories make the statements for a while, like this gold chain link bracelet from Ettika. It comes in a few different colors… I’m kind of thinking I might want to get one of each and have myself a little arm party.

I just want to start off by asking everyone to ignore the state of my hair in this post! hah. The day (and my hair for that matter) started out so amazing and beautiful, perfect for dinner and drinks with my best friend. However, during the 2 minute ride from my house to dinner, the weather got a little cray cray, and then so did my hair. Womp womp.

This was a fun, fun, fun night! It started off with a simple happy hour with my best friend and turned into crashing a concert playing at the Stone Pony across the street. My best friend and brother were both attending and had extra tickets on hand, so I decided why the hell not!  I have no idea who the band was but they were fantastic! These shoes, by the way, are the ultimate. I would wear them every day if I could. Trapsing all around Asbury in these bad boys ALL night you would think I would be crying by the time I got home, but no. They are the most comfortable shoes I own that are not sneakers or flats. If you can find a pair, buy them. You will not regret it!

Like the braid in my hair? Watch my tutorial on how to copy the style! (I filmed it like 2 & a half years ago when I was pregnant with Charlotte!) Enjoy. xo

Wardrobe Staple: Chambray

Image-1-2If there is one thing every woman should have in her closet, it’s a chambray top of some sort. They’re one of the most versatile articles of clothing you can own. Here I’m wearing a chambray tunic over simple leggings with chunky wedges, but there are countless other ways to style yours!

I don’t know what was up with my camera this day, I didn’t add these odd little sun bursts throughout my pictures, it’s natural, haha.

When the weather starts to really warm up (and my baby bump is gone) I’m looking forward to wearing a chambray button up tucked into white skinny jeans. They also look cute tucked into a full skirt, see how I styled one here.

I feel as though I must mention that this is one of the most comfortable tops I have ever laid my hands on! The fabric is so soft, I wanted to wear it for days! Sometimes maternity clothes can really surprise me… ha. The weather over the weekend couldn’t have been more perfect either! Getting to wear these wedges again made me giddy. ……..And then it snowed. Le sigh. ALSO! I have a question for my readers. I want to go blonde. Like, blonde blonde. What do you guys think? Should I try it?! 😀

Now You See Me…

Now you don’t! That’s the general rule of thumb when you see someone wearing camo, right? You have to make some kind of joke about how you can’t see them, or a hunting joke. It’s almost a little bit of a shocker if someone doesn’t make some cheesy comment like that. When I wore camo pants this weekend I was armed and ready for some jokes to be thrown my way!

My husband and I typically stop for coffee each and every weekend morning. We’ll load Charlotte up in the car, stop and get coffee and a mobile breakfast, then drive around for a little while. This weekend we decided to stop at Starbucks and walk the Grove since it was kind of nice out in the morning. That is where I found these pants and sunglasses that I’m newly obsessed with. The pants speak for themselves, you can literally see in pictures how comfortable they are. Definitely a great investment. Come fall I’ll be excited to pair them with a cream sweater and some low boots, yum. These sunglasses are fantastic because I feel like they’re a morph of two trends, round & cat’s eye. They’re not 100% round, but they’re not 100% cat’s eyes either. They’re so fun.

This weekend we had a birthday celebration for my husband & his best friend, who were born a week apart and who have been celebrating their birthday’s together since they were 11! How freaking cute is that? We went out on a big “pirate ship” for the day, to which I wore flat sandals to be comfortable, then switched into these shoes and headed into town for pizza, drinks, and eventually more drinks and dancing, ha! We had a blast. You can see a better view of the sunglasses in the picture below.

See what I mean about the shape? Super versatile. Anyway… How was your weekend loves? Until next time, kisses!

Boogie Butt Turned One!

Hola amigos! I’ve been MIA the past week and with good reason! I had to have an emergency wisdom tooth extraction! All 4 teeth, at once. As my one year old would say, “aye aye aye!” It was awful and I still don’t feel 100% but I’ve missed you guys so I’m pulling it together to write you a little recap of Charlotte’s birthday! That’s right, our little bundle of joy turned one this month. I can’t believe it. It sounds SO cliche but time really does fly. I don’t like it. I feel like I was pregnant for like 6 years and she turned one in a hot minute. Next thing you know she’s going to be getting her license, graduating high school, and leaving us for college! Make it stop! :[

Anyway, I digress. We had an amazing day spent with our family and closest friends at my parent’s house. Which, over the years, has become our go-to party spot. Thanks for always being such gracious hosts, mom & dad! We got super lucky with the weather, which was good because we invited way too many people to cram them all inside. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day.

Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate! She won’t remember it, of course, but we will never forget what a great day it was.
