Over Winter Weather, Faux Real.

It’s the first week of spring and how are we celebrating? With a snow storm! COME ON MAN. I am not usually one to complain about weather but this year threw me for a damn loop. We had a very mild winter. December and January were hardly even considered winter. There was a week in February I spent in a bikini on my back deck. And now March? Snow storms galore! I took advantage of one day in between freezing cold weather and snow to snap a quick set of photos of this very 70’s inspired look I’ve been loving lately.

I’ve had 90% of this outfit for over 3 years now. Basically the t-shirt is the only new thing… whoops. This cropped faux fur jacket my x-husband bought me for my 22nd birthday maybe? Or 23rd? Jesus that was so long ago! I only break it out for special occasions, typically, which is how it’s been kept in such good condition all this time. These Tory Burch sunglasses I’ve had for just about as long, really. Basically everything I’ve linked to above is a similar style as these exact items are no longer available.

ACS_0129ACS_0127ACS_0125ACS_0118ACS_0111ACS_0110

I’ve been big into my bandannas lately… they’re usually something I wear throughout the summer but I have been styling them in different ways, as shown in a recent post which you can check out here. I wore this outfit to work the other night, minus the fur and swapped out the flares & booties for skinny jeans and sneakers, and a co-worker of mine walked in wearing a bandanna tied in the exact same way! We were twinning and it was adorable. One of my favorite ways to style these is folded and wrapped like a choker, with a necklaces hanging slightly below it, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing these in a variety of ways for the foreseeable future. I mean, they’re less than $2.50 at a craft store.. how can you beat that?

Let’s Split

I look for pretty much any excuse to wear these split leg pants. Last year I wore them with a flowy off-white crop top, but I opted for a black bodysuit this time around. My favorite part of these pants is that they are easy to pair pretty much any shirt with, so duh, tons of wearability!

One thing I forgot about these pants but remembered as soon as I put them on… they make yo ass look ridiiiiiiiiiiduclous, hah. For all my ladies with the tiny lil booties out there, you might want to snag yourself a pair of these. I can only imagine they would make everyone’s back side look amaze. And for all of my big booty hoes (myself included) definitely get a pair, cause I mean… hi.

IMG_2521IMG_2518IMG_2515

So I have been using Luxy Hair extensions since I started the process of going lighter again. I noticed pretty much every other girl I was following on Instagram posting about these particular extensions, and found a 10% off coupon (not really that worth it in the long run) and decided to try them out. I don’t know if I’m just challenged or they are too long or what but I feel like they always look terrible on me! I cannot get them to blend for the life of me. I wish they had a few other options as far as length goes… although I wanted way longer hair, I think it makes it look way obvious that I have them in when they are this long. Anyway, that’s my rant about my hair! The ombre option matched pretty well with my current color, though, so no complaints there!

Take the Plunge

Last year I declared I would dabble more in the world of plunging necklines and I have held true to my word. I mean… I have never relied on boob tape so much in my life, but it’s worth it! Actually my boyfriend’s mom put boob tape in the Easter basket she gave me…she must know about my style resolutions, haha! (yes, I got an Easter basket from my boyfriend’s mother, be jealous).

What I really love about this jumpsuit, aside from ya know… everything… is the color. I don’t own a whole lot of olive green items, but I’m starting to add some to my wardrobe and I love how this one can kind of be worn as a neutral, which makes it easy to pair with different accessories. I went with kind of a nude look overall here, with the heels, bag, and jewelry.

IMG_7505IMG_7498

I picked out this jumpsuit as an option to wear to my best friend’s wedding next month. I kind of wanted to try something other than the typical dress… HOWEVER… It requires a bit toooooooooo much boob tape and I just don’t trust it to stay in place if I’m dancing a lot all night, LOL. So this jumpsuit may be more of a date night kind of outfit, ya know?

Post Thanksgiving Baggy Sweater

On Thanksgiving I will only wear a loose fitting dress or leggings… or casual eating pants, as I call them. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year for two reasons: it’s one of the few holidays left where my whole family still gets together, and the FOOD! I could live off of mashed sweet potatoes, for real. Unfortunately, for the few days following the gluttony, it’s hard to shove myself into tight fitting clothes. Enter: high waisted skirts and baggy sweaters.

Also, can we talk about this bag for a hot minute… I love everything Rebecca Minkoff does. She is actual perfection. This cross body is the perfect size for me, it holds all the necessities; wallet, keys, phone, chapstick, and I love the hardware. It’s my new favorite bag. duh. ALSO! Speaking of Rebecca Minkoff, South Moon Under in the Grove is having a holiday event featuring a RM trunk show! On December 3rd receive 20% off all Rebecca Minkoff items, and enjoy a Winky Lux lip bar, light bites and sweet sips! Just in time for your holiday shopping!! Or ya know, if you want to treat yo’self. ;] (See full event details below).

These over the knee socks are my new jam. I bought three different pairs from Forever21 and I can’t stop wearing them. I bought a black pair to wear with my taupe Chinese Laundry OTK boots, and this pair, and a deep burgundy color. I love the way they peek out over the top of these boots. So cute! I had another special guest with me on this shoot. I can’t get enough of my little ham!

Galentine’s Day Style

I think the idea of a Galentine’s Day celebration is the cutest idea ever! So fun and honestly, I always have the most fun with my girlfriends! Surprisingly, none of them are single this year, so I guess it’s not even an option, haha, but a great idea none the less! My best friend’s birthday is the day before Valentine’s Day sooo we could just combine the two? Anyway! Galentine’s Day is all about dressing up and feeling good about yourself, and if you want to wear all black, (as I usually do!) this is one holiday I don’t think anyone would mind.

As soon as I tried this top on I knew I had to have it. The shoulder cutouts are a big thing this year and I really dig that style. The tunic length with these textured leggings and pink rock stud heels screams ready for cocktails with the girls! How will you be celebrating this weekend? Don’t forget to stop by Juno, if you’re in the area, and browse their amazing selection of outfits. And when you’re done picking out something to wear this Sunday, head to their upstairs and pick out what you’ll be wearing underneath!

American Hustle

This dress makes me feel some type of way. A few ways really… like a sexy Christmas mermaid and Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle at the same time. Makes sense, right? If you can’t muster up the courage to wear this dress to a simple Christmas party (not many of my family holiday parties are that fancy) it’s a killer friggen dress for a New Years celebration.

I do have to mention that this coat is amazing. It’s cozy and comfortable and while it’s a long faux fur coat the hood gives it somewhat of a casual vibe. Basically you can pair it with a fancy ass sequin dress or jeans and a white tee and it would look just as great.

IMG_0242IMG_0241IMG_0239IMG_0222IMG_0238IMG_0221IMG_0236

So do you love this dress or what? It makes me want to step up my classy game, that’s for sure. I think this would make an amazing outfit for a New Years Eve celebration, no matter where you’re planning to spend it. Oh! And side note… my new favorite color this season is Burgundy! When pulling looks for these posts every single thing I grabbed was either black or burgundy. Not on purpose, but I do love the way they all look together. :] I’m sure you’ve figured that out by now, haha!

Back in Black

If I were a big celebrity in the pages of People Style Watch and I was in the “I really love my…” section, it would definitely be with these boots. I seriously have not been able to stop wearing them, but I’m not mad at it. I think the thing that really gets me about these beauties is how comfortable they are. I wore them to a concert last weekend, standing the entire time, and then out after and never once stopped to think to myself how uncomfortable I was. They are worth every penny guys, promise.

This dress makes me want to twirl around… which is probably why they call it the ballerina dress, I’m sure. Fun fact, this is also the first wrap dress I have ever owned. Quite shocking but now I feel like a grownup, ha. I love layering on this cozy cardigan for warmth and to add a bit of a casual vibe to the ensemble.

IMG_7724 IMG_7722 IMG_7720 IMG_7726 IMG_7729 IMG_7736 IMG_7738

I went on a crazy shopping spree at Urban Outfitters last weekend and this sweater and dress were two of my favorite purchases. The cardigan has been a staple of my wardrobe every single day since I bought it, I kid you not. The dress comes in a few other prints which are deliciously boho and flawless for fall. With the amazing weather we have been having lately simply throwing on over the knee boots with my favorite mini dress has been a uniform lately. Throw on a cozy cardigan when the sun goes down and you’re good to go!

Dark and Floral

During the spring and summer months I am not much for the floral patterns, but when the cooler months arrive and the florals take on a deeper and darker look I cannot get enough. I spent hours browsing the Shein website and picked out like 100 different things I wanted. Their prices are insane it’s not hard to do, ha. However, I landed on this dress and a sleeveless trench you’ll see in a later post. I am quite pleased with the pieces I ordered for the price, unfortunately, it took like a year to get to me though. HAH. :[ I suppose I’ll have to place an order of about 100 different things to make it worth the wait next time.

It’s a tad misleading here but there is a crazy deep V in the neckline of this dress. It was so deep I was legit unable to even bend over the tiniest little bit without exposing everrrrrythang. Thank god for a little boob tape, amiright? I am actually quite fond of the deep V but if you’re going to delve into this trend definitely do invest in double sided tape or actual tape made to keep clothes from slipping and sliding all over. It really allows you to play with different garments and add a little fun, if you will, to your wardrobe!

IMG_6185 IMG_6187 IMG_6192 IMG_6193 IMG_6195 IMG_6196

I’m really into this dress because it gives you that wiggle room to dress up or down. Pairing it with these OTK boots just felt right though, ha. On the flip side I could just as easily wear this dress with lace up sandals or even open toe booties with a long cardigan to make it look a little more comfortable and wearable during the day. However, I am not putting these boots away any time soon! I have been wearing them at least once a week lately. Throwing them on over leather leggings and a long flannel has been my go-to recently… perhaps you will see that look soon!

Before I tell you guys all about this denim event, let’s talk about designer sunglasses at insanely affordable prices. If you have not heard of Ditto Eyewear yet, let me drop some knowledge on you. I am a sunglasses addict. I have more pairs than I can count and I think I legitimately buy a new pair at least weekly. Ditto Eyewear is a new and exclusive service that lends you designer shades (and actual glasses) for a small monthly fee. Once you’ve tried on your most recent heart’s desire, you simply request a new pair with your personal stylist. They mail out you next shades immediately with a prepaid shipping label to return your original selection at no cost to you. It’s brilliant I tell you, BRILLIANT! You can try out the service for free for your first month by using code THERACHELROSS at checkout here! I’ve already taken two pairs of Karen Walker’s and a Prada for a test run and I plan on basically trying them all.. because I mean… I’m addicted right?IMG_5163 IMG_5164 IMG_5166 IMG_5167

IMG_5185 IMG_5186

Ok, so now about the jeans! Like I said, for the entire month of October South Moon Under is offering their amazing denim selections at 20% off. Brands include Citizens of Humanity, BLANK NYC, Hudson, Free People, AG and more! Want to know what the great cause is? Great, I thought so! All month long you can bring in your old jeans to be donated to the Blue Jeans Go Green denim recycling program where your old wardrobe will be recycled into denim insulation which is pretty friggen amazing if you ask me! I’m somewhat of a hoarder, really… I still have jeans from high school, but over the weekend I cleaned out my drawers and I’ll be stopping at SMU soon to donate these old rags as soon as Joaquin heads out of town. So be sure to stay safe if you’re on the east coast! THEN be sure to head to South Moon Under to do your part for a good cause, and THEN reward yourself with 20% some new jeans. ;]

Orange You Glad You’ve Got Happy Feet?

Ok this blog title makes like 0 sense, really, but I like it and it makes me happy, ha. I saw a pair of orange heels on Pinterest years ago… literally, when I first signed up for the website. Ever since I have always wanted a pair but could never find the perfect ones. When you shop with something specific in mind you never find it, isn’t that always the case? Ami Clubwear recently sent me the perfect pair of orange heels that I have been hunting for and I am oh so stoked on it!

I mean come on guys! Don’t you love these shoes? They are so bright and cheery! Plus they added the right amount of sass to an otherwise pretty casual outfit. I love the way distressed boyfriend jeans look with a chunky heel. Shoes like this can tend to be extremely uncomfortable, so I was worried about that since I never got to try them on first (damn you online shopping) but I was pleasantly surprised with how easy these were to wear!

IMG_3658 IMG_3660 IMG_3661 IMG_3662 IMG_3657

One of my favorite ways to update a look is to play around with my accessories. I happened to have two of these identical necklaces from Roman Luxe that have an adjustable chain. I wear one a little looser and layer on a second one with it for a bold look. If I had five of these I’d probably wear them all together at once to get this look. I’m obsessed with this necklace! It’s on sale now too… may have to scoop one up!
