Plunging Plum

In keeping with the theme this year, I’m showing another risqué little number on the blog today! I’ve been all about the tuxedo dress trend, and add the backless, plunging neckline to it… pure perfection!

Alright I’ll say it first…. I should probably invest in an iron. Mama Mia.. ha! Don’t worry I actually own one.. and when I wear this dress out for reals I will fo’ sho’ make sure it gets ironed. That’s what happens when you order something online, and it arrives in a bag, and you just can’t wait to wear it. But I mean, look at it… can you blame me?

IMG_7516IMG_7511IMG_7509IMG_7524

My favorite thing about this dress is the suspender detail on the back! For some reason I just love that strap. I can’t wait to wear this little number this summer. I really just have to find somewhere to wear it now… help! Side note! I’m thinking about selling a few (a lot!) of my things, including these shoes shown above. I just never wear them anymore, and I think they would make someone else very happy. :] If you, or anyone you know, wants some thangs, let me know!

Get Cozy with Pink Blush!

If there is one thing I do love about colder weather, it is snuggling up in some cozy layers. My house is old, and I mean ooooold, so heat is basically nonexistent in here. I live by the fire during the winter cuddled up in my favorite knits. Some comfy leggings and an oversized sweater are perfect for these days and this set would have to be my new favorite.pink blush

Going through blog posts from last year I realized something… I have like zero cute coats. I have two coats in general really; a giant puffy Northface, and a long white wool trench. I jumped at the chance to snag this black trench coat to add to my small collection. It’s so warm and roomy! I feel like I could pile on a few layers under here and wouldn’t get too bulky which is sooo important to me in the winter! I hate that!

This sweater offers that perfect layering illusion that I am so obsessed with. I’ve mentioned it before but I am SO terrible at the whole chic layering thing. I don’t know why but I cannot for the life of me get the hang of it. So I always opt for tops like this when they are available…takes all the fuss out of trying to get a look right, you know? Also! I must mention how amazing these leggings are. When shopping online it’s almost impossible to really get a feel for how something is made or the quality, which is why I usually shy away from it all together. When I put these leggings on I was pleasantly surprised at how thick and soft they were. They’re the kind of bottoms that will definitely keep you warm and cozy when it is freezing outside!

Not all Who Wander are Lost

There are few things I love more than a great graphic tee or muscle tank, my closet is FILLED with them! A few weeks ago I discovered this brand, Weekend Society, and fell in love. IN LOVE guys, seriously. I browsed their site until my vision went blurry, I wanted everything. I finally landed on this adorable tank top because I loved the message; wander eternal.

Did you notice how hard I am cheesing up there in one of those pictures? Oh my goodness, ha! I was leaning on the side of this building and did not notice there was a man inside the building sitting like 2 inches away from my face. It caught me very off guard and we had a good laugh about it, haha. The picture was taken like right at the tail end of my laughing fit but there were a few before I chose to trash because they were horribly embarrassing. I do not have one of those cute candid laughing faces, that’s fo’ damn sure. ANYWAY! This shirt. I am in love. It’s super soft which I wasn’t expecting but am very pleased about, and the length is perfect for me. But with all the said my absolute favorite thing is the graphic on the front. The skeleton with a suitcase and text that reads “wander eternal” ….ummm LOVE! It’s fun and positive and reminds me a lot of my favorite quote; “not all who wander are lost.” I had a ring with that inscribed on it once… which ironically enough, I lost. womp womp.

I’m wearing my favorite boots again. I have become a boot-a-holic recently! I’m not mad at it, though, especially when they are as badass as these beauties. Two other things I’m really into right now: 1. sleeveless flannels, and 2: layering necklaces. Sleeveless flannels are so fun because you can wear them with soooo many things! I have a shorter one that I basically wear as a skirt layered under a big sweater or like this, open and layered over other pieces. I won’t be able to wear anything sleeveless much longer so I’m getting them all in while I can. And these necklaces, I adore when people make things easier for you! These necklaces were packaged together made to be worn together. It takes away all of the stress of finding different necklaces at appropriate lengths for layering, so I’m a big fan!

Fringetastic

As you may or may not have noticed, and if you haven’t you soon will, I am in love with fringe. I’ve made no secrets on my blog that I was incredibly weary of this trend coming back around. After all, I am scarred for life after seeing the most ill-fitting unflattering camel suede jackets with fringe so long you could sweep the floor with them everywhere during my adolescence. So, needless to say, I was late to this trend party, but as with all trends, you experiment and you find the right fabrics and fits that work for you. I mean, I love me some Randy Savage, but I’m not about to channel him in my wardrobe, you know? Sometimes, less is more.

I’m really into how warm it has been lately; I think September and October may be my favorite months as far as fashion goes. It’s a little cool one day so you can layer on your favorite fall essentials but then it’s like 70 degrees the next day so you can still tap into your summer favorites; like this tank top or strappy heels. I didn’t even have to throw an extra jacket in the car to go with this outfit, it’s crazy but I’m so into it.

IMG_5660 IMG_5661 IMG_5663

Isn’t this skirt fun? It’s a whole lot of fringe and leather; two trends I’m really enjoying at the moment. I love when designers mix trends like these two without going overboard. It’s a win win for everyone. Speaking of fringe! I’m going to be teaming up with a few of my favorite bloggers next month to show you how we all do fringe, so be sure to keep checking back for that! You will not want to miss it, promise!

Orange You Glad You’ve Got Happy Feet?

Ok this blog title makes like 0 sense, really, but I like it and it makes me happy, ha. I saw a pair of orange heels on Pinterest years ago… literally, when I first signed up for the website. Ever since I have always wanted a pair but could never find the perfect ones. When you shop with something specific in mind you never find it, isn’t that always the case? Ami Clubwear recently sent me the perfect pair of orange heels that I have been hunting for and I am oh so stoked on it!

I mean come on guys! Don’t you love these shoes? They are so bright and cheery! Plus they added the right amount of sass to an otherwise pretty casual outfit. I love the way distressed boyfriend jeans look with a chunky heel. Shoes like this can tend to be extremely uncomfortable, so I was worried about that since I never got to try them on first (damn you online shopping) but I was pleasantly surprised with how easy these were to wear!

One of my favorite ways to update a look is to play around with my accessories. I happened to have two of these identical necklaces from Roman Luxe that have an adjustable chain. I wear one a little looser and layer on a second one with it for a bold look. If I had five of these I’d probably wear them all together at once to get this look. I’m obsessed with this necklace! It’s on sale now too… may have to scoop one up!

Flannel: My 2nd Favorite F Word

If you follow me on Twitter, or know me in real life you can probably guess what my first favorite F word is… ;] However, flannel is a close second. I live in flannel. If you take a peek inside my closet it closely resembles that of Doug Funny’s, but instead of white t-shirts, sweater vests, and khaki shorts you can find a butt load of flannel.

I found these boots at the end of last summer when the fringe trend was just about to peak. I was pregnant with Kennedy so I wasn’t about to wear anything fringy but I desperately wanted something for my own wardrobe. I found these boots and they seemed damn near perfect. They are outstandingly comfortable and cute, so that’s a plus.

I am seriously dying over this weather! Well, the weather we were having… it’s apparently going to start snowing up in this bitch soon and I’m only slightly looking forward to it. I want it to wait to snow until after my birthday next month so I can use my new snow boots to play outside with my kids! I don’t know for a fact that I’m getting them… but if anyone reading this is buying me a birthday present, I want Sorel boots. Ok thanks bye.

Cozay in Chambray!

I’ve said it a million times, the chambray shirt is and always will be a wardrobe staple! If you don’t have one, invest in one now. It can be worn throughout every season in a handful of different ways. One of my favorite ways to wear this shirt on cooler days is tucked into a great pair of white denim pants with a fab pair of shoes.

I am truly going to miss my summer wardrobe (not the heat or humidity, mind you) but definitely the wardrobe! I love just waking up in the morning and throwing on an easy sun dress and heading out for the day, however, it’s almost too easy. There is a certain excitement that comes with fall fashion, isn’t there? So many fun ways to dress up and play with your wardrobe and a lot of fantastic ways to incorporate summer pieces in there, like I did with these white jeans.

photo 4 photo 5A cool chambray shirt is so versatile! See a few other ways I styled chambray here and here. Side note, the chambray tunic I had from A Pea in the Pod was one of my favorite maternity pieces, ever! It was the most comfortable top I owned at the time, so if you’re a mommy-to-be, definitely pick one of those bad boys up, you will love it!
