Apparently it’s Still Winter.

I literally lived in this outfit, or some very similar variation of this outfit, ALL. WINTER. LONG. Throw on an extra layer for the really cold days and this was pretty much what you would find me wearing on any given day. Have I mentioned how much I hate winter coats? Anyway! Since it is supposed to be spring but it still feels like winter I figured I’d throw up one last cold weather inspired look.

I’m just going to point this out now that you will literally not see one picture in this post where I am not holding onto my hat for dear life, haha! It was so damn windy and this was one of those outfits where it just wouldn’t look the same without the hat. So whatever… I held onto it the entire time. Fun fun. These tops from Urban are so insanely comfortable, I have a few of them in different colors but I live in this one and my white one with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and slip on sneakers. They may no longer be available (at least I can’t seem to find them online) but that’s ok because they make a tank top version which is just in time for the warmer temperatures… should they ever arrive! I sincerely hope this is the last time you see me wearing layers on this blog for a while. I am so over them.

Weekend Warrior

So I have discovered that I have somewhat of a uniform on the weekends lately. It involves distressed black denim, a plain white tee or striped tee, leather jacket, scarf, booties. I’m comfortable but chic and it has become my go-to!

I’ve also given up on trying to force color into my wardrobe lately, ha. Black is my thing and I’m just admitting it and accepting it from here on out. If I need color I’ll put on a bright and bold lipstick and call it a day. Also! These booties are so comfortable! Forever 21 has really stepped up their shoe game guys. They were also on sale for like $15 too, so you really cannot beat it. I wasn’t expecting to like them as much as I do when I bought them, I was just kind of in the market for this type of shoe and they have become my favorite pair of boots. I love a good casual outfit for running around on weekends, don’t you?

Monochrome

I’m back to my typical color palate now… lots of black, white, and grey. Pops of color can be sooo overrated. (notice how my views on the matter change? I’m so fickle!)

This was supposed to be the year of outerwear. I was going to stock up on really cute coats and jackets and all things of that nature and keep things fresh and new on the blog this winter. HOWEVER, the weather has not been outerwear friendly thus far so this is really the first you’re seeing of a coat, save for my fabulous fur last week. I really, really dig this coat. The length is perfect, it keeps your butt warm when you sit on cold seats, and the leather sleeves are a bold addition to an otherwise traditional trench.

Do you not LOVE this backpack? I needed something like this so bad. I was growing tired of my usual totes or cross-bodies, and I’m not a huge fan of bucket bags, so a backpack it was! Matt got this for me for my birthday. I would say the boy did good, but I e-mailed him links to a few different Linea Pelle bags I was obsessing over at the time, haha! Takes all the stress out of picking out a gift for me. No matter which one he got me, I would have been in love!

It’s hard to tell from the photos but these are not just normal faux leather leggings, they are snakeskin. I picked these out because I think I have to officially retire my favorite BEBE leather leggings due to the fact that I have to constantly pull them up every 5 minutes. These fit perfectly and they add so much edge to your look. I am a big fan of leather leggings! They’re comfortable but pull a look together instantly, so you no longer have to fear the “oh man, I’m going out wearing leggings” stigma. Which, I don’t even know why people get all hot and bothered if a girl chooses to wear leggings. They’re comfortable, and if you’re comfy and feel good in what you’re wearing then everyone else can piss off. 🙂 On another note, hope you all had a GREAT Christmas holiday! Anyone doing anything super exciting for New Year’s Eve this year?
