Tres Chic!

You know that little, witty joke, “I’ll stop wearing black when they make a darker color.” That’s not really a witty joke. I always find myself coming back to black. It’s the perfect color. Or…the perfect lack of color? Ponder that.

I have to note, quickly, that all of the shoes I’ve worn on here from Charlotte Russe have been recent purchases, but they’re not on their website. Who knows why, but they are available in stores if you’re looking for my exact shoes! image-84 image-86

I was not at all prepared for the weather to get as hot as it has while I’m pregnant. It’s only been a few days really, but I figured, I’m due mid May, it won’t be too hot, I’ll be good! I owned zero short dresses from my first pregnancy. As I’ve posted before, my body was WAY different with baby #1. I was huge. I was super self conscious so I never wore anything that showed my legs, leaving me entirely unprepared for this pregnancy. This is one of two items I purchased this time around that is short and wearable in this heat!

WATCH: MICHELLE || BRACELET: DAVID YURMAN image-87 image-88 image-89

I bought this dress in the beginning of my pregnancy. I loved it so much I bought in a medium since they didn’t have it in my size. I knew I’d have to wait to wear it, one, for it to get warm enough, and two, for it to fit me, ha. Now that my bump is much bigger it fits much better. It’s still a little loose in certain areas but the drawstring helps a lot. Only 2 days left ya’ll! Well actually I had my last doctor’s appointment yesterday and they think I’ll go on or right around my due date, but not before. The suspense is killing me!!

Casual Days

This is probably the one and only time you will ever see my natural hair on this blog. I have been too lazy to keep up with it every day. And to be honest, it could probably use a decent break from all the torture I put it through to make it look even somewhat presentable. So here ya go, casual days with casual wear & casual hair.

There were a few days last week when it got a little cool and rainy out, but it still had that warm summer feel to it. I thoroughly enjoy days like that. Not when they’re all rainy, but like, a nice warm day with a little rain to give you a break from the heat and then it clears up again. You know what I mean? BUT anyway, this sweater, which I bought the last time I was pregnant, is perfect for days like that. I seriously love this sweater, I wish I could wear it always!

Soooo a little update here… I’m due SATURDAY!  Yep. 4 days. Anyone wanna place bets on when you think she’ll arrive, or how much she’ll weigh? haha! We actually did that with Charlotte. No one guessed her exact weight but two people came very close, it was kinda of fun. So if I go radio silent in the next few days, you guys will know where to find me! ;] Wish us luck!

Put a Little Spring in Your Step!

After reviewing my blog posts these past couple of months I realized I needed more color in my life. Don’t get me wrong, I am 100% ok with an all black wardrobe, tres chic! BUT with warmer temps coming our way I did feel like I had to spice things up a bit with some color, and where better to start than your shoes!

I’ve finally invested in one of those “belly bands.” They’re like thick bands of stretchy fabric that you wear around your stomach over your pants. They’re basically made to help you be able to wear your non-maternity pants longer and they look as though you’re wearing “layers.” I never had one during my first pregnancy, but I was SO big I couldn’t wear many of my normal clothes anyway. This time around I fit in all of my regular pants in every way except for around the bump, obviously, so I bought one of those belly bands to be able to wear my jeans & such longer. What a good investment, too! I’m quite happy with it.

I’m so in love with these shoes! They’re springy and colorful and fun and, believe it or not, so comfortable! They were perfect for walking around the town on a gorgeous afternoon but dress up any outfit in seconds. I’m really excited to wear these well into the summer with a little white dress!
IMG_2462 IMG_2481 IMG_2486 IMG_2497 IMG_2510Isn’t this top adorable too? I am just so in love with ASOS’s maternity line! So much color and youth! If you’re a young mom like me, there are few things worse than the expectation that people put on you to start dressing like a 50’s housewife. It’s even worse when you’re pregnant! Walking into Motherhood Maternity makes me angry sometimes, their options are just so…..drab. ASOS maternity is where it’s at! If you’re looking for some amazing maternity options for spring I most definitely suggest you browse their site, you won’t be disappointed!

What’s Black, White, and Red all over?

This blog post! Ha ha ha… cheesy enough for everyone? Who doesn’t like to start their day with some cheeeeeese.

image-35image-36image-38image-39 Simple white shirts are another favorite wardrobe staple of mine. I live in white t-shirts (when I’m not pregnant) and either boyfriend jeans, or shorts depending on the season. When I found this top at A Pea in the Pod I was stoked! I immediately saw about 20 different ways I could wear it… BUT this look first!

image-40 image-41 image-42 image-44 image-45

This weather was legit. The epitome of a Spring day. When a cool breeze came I simply slumped down the scarf to cover my shoulders and arms and it warmed me right up!

This bracelet is a flee market find from one of my many trips to Aruba years ago! It used to make an every day appearance in my wardrobe but took a back seat to other accessories over the years. I forgot how much I loved it! It’s amazing what $7 in another country can get you. I just love rediscovering old favorites, don’t you?image-33 image-31 image-32

These are my first ever pair of Louboutins. The hubs bought them for me as a wedding present 🙂 They were insanely uncomfortable at first, but after almost 4 years of being worn in they kind of fit like a glove now. Maybe a glove on OJ’s hand, but a glove none the less! This Target bag is a total knockoff of a Celine, but I’m obsessed with it! I love all the space. I’ve been prone to carrying small crossbody bags for so long so it’s nice to have a little extra room for all of the crap I can accumulate so quickly while still maintaining a sophisticated look.

By the way! Thanks for everyone who weighed in across social media on the topic of going blonde! I’m totally doing it! Have not yet decided which shade of blonde (I’m between white white white blonde or a color similar to my ends) but I’m definitely doing it. Stay tuned ;]

Jumpsuit for Joy

Maybe it’s the kid in me, who knows, but I really love jumpsuits and rompers. They get me through the entire summer and when I find a sleek and sexy jumpsuit for fall and winter I get equally as excited. Add being able to find one when pregnant to the list and I’m just in Heaven! Thank goodness these exist!

I couldn’t help myself when picking out accessories, I needed the brights! When I found this jumpsuit online I immediately knew I was going to pair it with Schiap from Nars, and I had this necklace already, so the neon accessories just came together. I’m channeling summer here. It’s necessary. image-31 image-32

Jumpsuits usually remind me of summer since I’m typically found wearing rompers throughout the warmer months and I have a very summery jumpsuit as well. So when I saw this online I squealed with joy because who doesn’t love a sexy jumpsuit that can take you through cooler months? You don’t have to be 6 feet tall to wear something like this either, so get over that real quick. Just throw on some heels, find a pattern or color (can’t go wrong with black) that’s slimming, and you’re good to go. The one thing I will say, being pregnant and peeing every 15 minutes as I do, rompers maybe aren’t the best outfit choice for me, but whatever. I do what I want.
