Apparently it’s Still Winter.

I literally lived in this outfit, or some very similar variation of this outfit, ALL. WINTER. LONG. Throw on an extra layer for the really cold days and this was pretty much what you would find me wearing on any given day. Have I mentioned how much I hate winter coats? Anyway! Since it is supposed to be spring but it still feels like winter I figured I’d throw up one last cold weather inspired look.

I’m just going to point this out now that you will literally not see one picture in this post where I am not holding onto my hat for dear life, haha! It was so damn windy and this was one of those outfits where it just wouldn’t look the same without the hat. So whatever… I held onto it the entire time. Fun fun. These tops from Urban are so insanely comfortable, I have a few of them in different colors but I live in this one and my white one with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and slip on sneakers. They may no longer be available (at least I can’t seem to find them online) but that’s ok because they make a tank top version which is just in time for the warmer temperatures… should they ever arrive! I sincerely hope this is the last time you see me wearing layers on this blog for a while. I am so over them.

Fauxget About It

I had been on the hunt for a coat like this for months, literally. I could not find one anywhere, even online, and one day while browsing the sale section of H&M I saw this beauty poking out from behind a bunch of other huge winter coats. There was one left, in the entire store, and it was my size. Hello fate! Not to mention it was on sale for $20. Yahtzee.

This coat makes me feel like a celebrity, haha. I’ve been trying to wear it as often as possible because I’m so pleased with the find. It’s also amazingly comfortable and warm… win win!

The amount of snow we got the days before this shoot was crazy! Luckily it had warmed up and started to melt but it kinda made for some cool pictures, didn’t it? Anyway! Tonight I’m off to my one and only Fashion Week event this year! I downloaded Periscope recently (ah!) so I’m going to try to broadcast some of it. I’ll be hanging out at Christian Benner’s show this year and you should definitely follow along because it’s going to be so, so, SO amazing! Until then!

I Definitely Have a ‘Type’

One thing I’ve noticed while sifting through my wardrobe picking out outfits daily is that I definitely have a preferred color palate this fall and winter. Historically I would have been found in a lot of blue jeans and probably a navy and white striped shirt of some sort. Lately I’m noticing I have way more black and olive in my closet and I’m into it.

The amount of Nirvana ‘themed’ clothes I own is a tad alarming. I liked this tank top because it wasn’t the typical shirt you find when shopping for band tee’s, plus I was all over that floral print. And if you don’t know who ‘KURT’ is, bless your heart. Go listen to some Nirvana and thank me later.

I showed this outfit with and without all of the outwear, one because I wanted to show my new tank that I’m in love with, and two because the weather we have been having lately has been so damn weird you can literally wear this outfit with or without all the layers in the same day. When you leave the house it’s a warm 70 degrees and by the time you arrive to your destination it’s a bitter cold and windy 50. Makes zero sense to me, really, but whatever. ALSO! Not all Who Wander are Lost

There are few things I love more than a great graphic tee or muscle tank, my closet is FILLED with them! A few weeks ago I discovered this brand, Weekend Society, and fell in love. IN LOVE guys, seriously. I browsed their site until my vision went blurry, I wanted everything. I finally landed on this adorable tank top because I loved the message; wander eternal.

Did you notice how hard I am cheesing up there in one of those pictures? Oh my goodness, ha! I was leaning on the side of this building and did not notice there was a man inside the building sitting like 2 inches away from my face. It caught me very off guard and we had a good laugh about it, haha. The picture was taken like right at the tail end of my laughing fit but there were a few before I chose to trash because they were horribly embarrassing. I do not have one of those cute candid laughing faces, that’s fo’ damn sure. ANYWAY! This shirt. I am in love. It’s super soft which I wasn’t expecting but am very pleased about, and the length is perfect for me. But with all the said my absolute favorite thing is the graphic on the front. The skeleton with a suitcase and text that reads “wander eternal” ….ummm LOVE! It’s fun and positive and reminds me a lot of my favorite quote; “not all who wander are lost.” I had a ring with that inscribed on it once… which ironically enough, I lost. womp womp.

I’m wearing my favorite boots again. I have become a boot-a-holic recently! I’m not mad at it, though, especially when they are as badass as these beauties. Two other things I’m really into right now: 1. sleeveless flannels, and 2: layering necklaces. Sleeveless flannels are so fun because you can wear them with soooo many things! I have a shorter one that I basically wear as a skirt layered under a big sweater or like this, open and layered over other pieces. I won’t be able to wear anything sleeveless much longer so I’m getting them all in while I can. And these necklaces, I adore when people make things easier for you! These necklaces were packaged together made to be worn together. It takes away all of the stress of finding different necklaces at appropriate lengths for layering, so I’m a big fan!

These Boots were Made for Walking

I’m a big fan of the moto boot… moto jacket… pretty much anything with the letters m-o-t-o in front of it are a win for me. After hosting an event with Marmi shoes last month I was torn between snagging a cute pair of heels or a pair of boots I could not take my eyes off of (they also had uh-mazing sneakers that I pretty much need). Heels I have a plenty but these boots basically had to come home with me.

What eventually ended up winning me over were the details. All other pairs of boots I have that might look similar have very different features. I liked the little heel and the fact that the buckles were black and not silver. I wore them with a long button up dress during the event so I knew they would be versatile and easy to pair with just about anything. I call them by BAMF boots, because I feel pretty friggen badass while wearing them, ha.

While attending the Lulu’s fashion week party I picked up this sweater. There isn’t anywhere to try on clothes during the event, so I had to go with something I knew would fit and flatter without actually seeing it on. I am a huge fan of BB Dakota so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed, and I wasn’t! I can leave the back open on warmer days or layer up when it gets cooler, this sweater is perfect!

I Left My Heart in North Carolina

I spent the last weekend in North Carolina with my best friend at her Aunt’s condo smack dab on the beach. I knew we were going to be spending a few days doing nothing but vegging out and relaxing, but I didn’t think we would be spending every day doing that, ha. I way over packed for this trip… seriously. I even went as far as to shower, do my hair, and get all dressed up one night only to walk the trail to the beach, take these photos, and walk back to the condo to play darts until it was time to pass out, haha! I just love vacations.

I’ve had this shirt all summer and I did not try it on when I purchased it. I brought it home and HATED everything I tried it on with! I kept it in my closet for a few months until I went out to lunch with my cousin and realized she had the same shirt and it looked soooo beyond cute with her silk shorts and then I remembered I had a pair of my own. I literally left lunch, went home, tried the shirt on with these shorts and felt relieved. I could finally wear it, ha.

I brought these shoes with me to North Carolina, one because they matched everything I thought I was going to wear, but two they are extremely comfortable. I can’t function in flats, even sandals really, so anything with a little bit of a heel works wonders for me. Anything to lengthen my legs even a little bit. That being said, while I need a bit of height I do want to be comfortable so these were an obvious go-to for me.

I love this last shot! It’s funny because it just looks like a flock of seagulls flying over me, but they are actually a whole bunch of pelicans. They were everywhere! I’ve only ever seen one in my entire life in Aruba… and here we saw about 20 of them every day. The first day we also saw a couple of dolphins playing around right off the beach. It was a pretty fantastic trip overall, but alas, it’s back to reality now!
