Soaking up the Sun

It’s hard to believe that fall is just around the corner, isn’t it? Usually around this time bloggers start throwing up some fall inspired looks to get you guys all pumped and ready, but honestly, it was 100 degrees outside yesterday. There was NO way my ass was throwing on jeans or a suede jacket, even for 5 minutes. So the summer styles live on!

If you haven’t noticed, I don’t know how to wear anything without getting wrinkles. Unless you carry around your clothes in a garment bag with a portable steamer, like, is it even possible?! Don’t judge me guys. The struggle is real.

I love how trendy off the shoulder tops were this summer. I think it’s a little late to grab one with pom poms or fringe now, but if they’re still in next year I’m obsessed with this one! Holy cute! For only $14.99 it might just be worth throwing in the cart anyway. There’s so many warm days in September, it could still be worth it.sig 2

Twist & Twirl in a LWD

It feels so good to break out my LWD’s for the warmer weather. Even I can get sick of my black clothes sometimes. (GASP!)

Ya know what I’m in love with? Chokers. When trends make their way around again it can be a little alarming… sometimes things go away for a reason. Chokers though, aaaaah yes, I’m so glad they’re back! I’ve worn them a little bit here and there throughout the 2000’s but they’re a staple now. YAY.IMG_7999IMG_7998IMG_7997IMG_7996IMG_7995

I’m a fan of this little white dress for a few reasons; it’s light and airy, perfect for those sticky hot days when you can’t really walk around naked but want to feel like you are, HAH, and the adorable detailed straps. It’s comfortable and cute and a great transitional dress to go from hanging at the beach to having some evening cocktails with just a quick change of shoes.

Skort the Issue

If your my age… 27 (gag!) fashion trends from your childhood are starting to come back in waves. I’ve seen a few girls trying to pull off the plastic wire choker but I wouldn’t count on that too soon, ha. However, many, many things like flatforms, bucket bags and backpacks, overalls, and skorts, just to name a few, have made their way into closets across the globe… including mine.

When I first grabbed this off the rack I thought it was just your typical little white dress. It wasn’t until I walked into the dressing room that I realized this was a skort. I was unsure at first… but I went ahead and tried it on anyway. It fit like a glove and I’m actually really into the skort look instead of a dress. As much as I’d love to be able to run around in heels and little dresses all the time, I am constantly chasing after two small children so the skort over the dress works perfectly for me. I don’t have to worry about pulling at my dress to make sure nothings hanging out. Win!

Oh so about my hair… hah! Last week you guys saw the cut but I went one step further and dyed it some fun colors. My stylist and I have done just about everything we can do to my hair. In case you were unaware, I have naturally very dark brown hair. We’ve been going blonde for about a year now. I’ve been toying with the idea of going dark again in the fall so while I have the blonde locks that are needed to dye your hair a wild color we decided to do it. I went for a pastel look instead of a bright look. It’s subtle but still fun, and the best part, temporary! ha If you like the look and you’re in the Red Bank area, definitely stop by Lambs and Wolves… ask for Candace ;]
