If you take a peek throughout my jewelry collection you will undoubtedly notice that I have countless New Jersey themed accessories, for real. Remember this post of my most recent NJ find from Jaime Primak? Well I have added a little piece to my jewelry box that I am obsessed with! It boasts pride for where you’re from without being so obvious and I’m in love with that. Take a look!
Summer is coming to a close and the nights are starting to become a little too chilly for simply shorts or dresses so I’m working in summer wardrobe essentials that can take me through the beginning of fall. I adore these white jeans from Lulu’s! The distressed look just speaks to me. Not to mention they’re literally so soft they feel like wearing pajama bottoms. I can’t get enough!
Aside from these custom necklaces, Kemi also creates brail pieces, which I friggen love! As someone who is basically legally blind (seriously) it means a lot to me that someone would create such beautiful pieces and donate a portion of those proceeds to a good cause. Check out her stunning Love is Blind ring!
So! Back to this beautiful necklace you can see clearly a few pictures above. I’m in love with literally everything Kemi designs but I had to get my hands on one of her coordinates necklaces. I chose the coordinates of Oceanport, NJ… my hometown where I was born & raised. It has very special meaning to me, aside from just being where I’m from. I met my husband in OP where we both grew up (he moved here when he was in 5th grade). We were basically babies when we met and this past weekend we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary! Cray. I have very very special anniversary photos coming soon so be sure to keep an eye out for those! Check out everything Kemi has to offer on her website here, I promise you’ll want everything!
Soooo something kind of major…. Blake Lively wore this necklace on an episode of Gossip Girl once! ::squeal:: It’s from one of their older collections, so unfortunately it is no longer available on their site, BUT it is on major sale at Max & Chloe! I linked to it up above!
So I wore this little number on another date night with the hubbs. We’re very into wandering into restaurants we’ve never visited before lately. We’ve been two for two so far! The Highlands is serving up some seriously tasty eats, so if you’re ever in that area stop in Copper Canyon for their insane guac sampler or Christine’s for a very romantic dinner with an incredibly attentive chef! But seriously… this guacamole sampler… there are no words. Spicy feta guac and a bacon guac. That’s all you need to know. (incredible)
One of my favorite prints is gingham, it’s a fresh take on plaid and for whatever reason just looks classy to me. It can give off a prepster vibe paired with pearls and sperrys, or a hipster vibe with distressed skinnies and boots. I’m by no means preppy but I think I’m doing a pretty good job at pretending to be with this outfit, ha.
This whole collection of necklaces makes my heart skip a beat. I love the combination of colors and materials. They are so festive for spring and summer, right? I love using them to dress up a casual white tee shirt and jeans too. They’re all still available online, so go here to see more gorgeous styles!
This picture above is my reaction to my oldest daughter, Charlotte, crashing my shoot, haha. She is wearing a Frozen dress and butterfly wings and wanted to dance and do yoga on the dock right in front of me. She looked like a straggler from an EDM festival on Molly, hahaha. BUT when that happens, what can ya do but dance? ;]
Another plus about this shirt? It’s so damn comfortable. The fabric is so soft it’s one of those shirts you could even sleep in. It’s a couple years old but I’m on a mission to find an updated version and buy it in every color possible.
So, it’s November. When did that happen and how can we slow time down? I suppose we can’t. BUT, we can hop on a plane and get the hell out of here when it gets too cold. When the weather starts to cool down to unbearable temperatures we can always take comfort in the fact that the beach and an ice cold margarita are only a quick plane ride away. I mean, unless of course you’re me, and have 2 kids and a business to run. In my case, I have no choice but to grit my teeth and bare it, HA. But if you’re one of the lucky ones with a sweet winter vaca on the calendar this year, here are some styling options just for YOU!
Normally I would wear an outfit like this with comfortable flip flops. I wore this on vacation in New Port, and I knew we would be wandering around town all day. HOWEVER, my two evil puppies decided that my absolute favorite GAP flip flops would be their afternoon snack one day. I hate them sometimes. Anyway, I was forced to up my game when it came to my footwear due to my dogs insatiable need to eat anything and everything in front of them, but it’s ok. These are some of the most comfortable shoes I own and it allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone for the day.
I am a Jersey girl through and through. I have been raised that way and I will continue to bleed “dirty” NJ water until I die. I grew up “at the shore” (a phrase that still makes me cringe thanks to MTV) and I am going to go out on a limb and say that as long as I have anything to do with it, I will never move, HA. Sorry babe, we’re never moving back up north….ever. The only other place I would consider relocating to is California. It is such an attractive state, on the coast, and I need to be within 5 miles of a beach at all times, even in the winter. ANYWAY! My point is, whenever I travel I always bring with me my custom NJ necklace from Moon & Lola. It’s my favorite little piece of home whenever I’m not near it.
The best thing about planning a vacation early is, you get to shop all of the amazing end of the season sales! And I mean, what could be better than shopping at a serious discount? Not much, really. Enjoy your vacation and have a drink or two for me please! ;]
Fashion Week is such an exciting time of year! There is always something to do, somewhere to go, people to see! It’s kind of like Christmas, but without all of the terrible presents you have to pretend to like. Just a bunch of terrible outfits we have to pretend to admire instead… ;]
This was such a fantastic day! The weather was supposed to be crappy and rainy, but it ended up being pretty beautiful, except for the heat which was borderline unbearable, ha. I was fortunate enough to attend a blogger brunch hosted by TheVane and catch up with some old blogger friends while meeting and making some fabulous new ones! Then we wandered over to the library on a last minute decision to see Nigel Barker speak. Let me tell you, that man is a beautiful human being, but beyond that, he is incredibly brilliant and humble. It was a great opportunity!
I had a million outfit options for this particular day in the city, and I really had no idea that to wear. There is so much pressure to go out and buy a new designer outfit, right? I couldn’t deal with it, ha. I sifted through my closet and just grabbed a few of my favorite pieces. This J Crew top is light and comfortable, the skirt pops with its bright hue. And the shoes… well the shoes were a no brainer. An anniversary gift from my husband, they had to be worn! Side note: J Crew is having an awesome sale right now! Use code SHOPFORFALL at checkout to get 25% off full priced items and 30% off sale items. YAY!
As I said, we were all at a fun brunch hosted by TheVane at the Vanguard Wine Bar. There were so many delicious goodies to snack on! I am a huge fan of brunch food, but I mean, who isn’t? We were lucky to have this fantastic event sponsored by Air Optix and plenty of delicious beverages provided by Proximo Spirits! Here are a few pictures from brunch!
