A Classic Christmas

Tis the season to deck yourself with some holiday cheer! Between my birthday and holiday parties there is no shortage of events to dress up for. While deep down I reallyy want to strut my stuff in something sparkly and fun (like you’ll see later this week!) for a family Christmas party, a classic dress is key! My love, Kymalexis, and I will be showing you guys our preferred holiday style this year.

The blue dress I’m wearing is one of those things that you just never ever want to take off. It instantly makes you feel confident and sexy, but festive and chic! I really can’t resist buying dresses with lace these days. And this blue! I’m obsessed with the color. Jewel tones have my heart this year.

I don’t go to any hair stylist that runs the streets of Monmouth County, I go to Candace at West Ave Cutters in Atlantic Highlands. When I say she’s the best, I’m not saying it just so say it, I’m saying it because she deserves all the credit in the world for all the beautiful work she does! She’s the best kept secret. She created this updo on the spot when I told her I wanted something romantic but undone. I can’t wait to share more of her work! – Kymalexis img_4376img_4355img_4351img_4346img_4342img_4337img_4330

Whatever your traditions are at Christmas, it’s always nice to pick a stand-out outfit to mark the occasion. A bit of glitz and glam is a must no matter what your plans are.  Sophisticated yet sexy, this suede dress is an instant classic that I have christmas-tized with red heels and a black clutch.  I paired it with this beautiful yet fun leopard fur jacket.  South Moon Under doesn’t want you to sacrifice a furry friend or your Kardashian style, so they have selected some amazing faux fur items for our holiday shopping!  Can I just add that this coat is super warm and brings out the jersey in me ;P – Kymalexis
So! As you can tell, my gal pal and I are swooning over bold textures this year! Between the little lace dress and this gorgeous suede LBD, (that I should add fits her like a GLOVE) we’re loving the twist on the otherwise simple pieces.

Holiday Style Kickoff

It is never too soon to start planning your Holiday wardrobe. During the few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas the days fly by and all of the Christmas festivities seem to sneak up on me. I like to get a head start in my outfit planning so when the holiday actually rolls around I can focus on the more important things. This year my eyes are drawn to a lot of similar styles as last year: velvet, lace, deep, rich hues.img_0117

I found this dress while shopping for something to wear to a late November wedding. I ended up not attending the wedding, but it’s ok, because I think it’s perfect for the holidays anyway!

I’m obsessed with the color and fit of this dress. In a certain light the black almost looks like a very deep, rich navy blue. I actually stared at it for a long time hanging in my room when I was trying to figure out which shoes to wear with it because I couldn’t really say with 100% confidence that it was definitely black and not blue, haha. Eventually I went with the nude heel… just to be safe! If you also haven’t noticed by now, I never miss an opportunity to wear my little moto jacket with anything feminine. I love the contrast between feminine and edge.

Unfortunately, Molly & Zoey doesn’t have an online store, so I browsed the web and found some of my favorite little black lace dresses that are comparable in both style & price! Happy shopping!

She Wore Cherry Red Flares

I am so excited to bring you guys a full week, yes, FULL WEEK(!!!) of holiday ready outfits! There are so many different places to travel and celebrate the festivities this time of year, and so many different ways to dress the part. The first four outfits you’re going to see this week come straight from my favorite store, South Moon Under. I first saw these burgundy velvet flares a few weeks ago when I took a friend of mine who was visiting from out of town shopping. Two things happened when I saw them; one, I fell in love, and two, I felt like Prince would wear them and I love Prince so obvi I needed them.

Aren’t these flares to diiiieeeee for? I am obsessed! I love the color and the fit. I never in a million years thought I’d find myself in a pair, especially velvet, but I dig it. That is why my mottos is to always try stuff on; you never know what you may end up liking. Velvet is such a key fabric this time of year. The deep berry hue and bright shine make it a perfect look for Christmas.  I also love this feathery and sparkly top. I always find myself wanting to wear skirts embellished with feathers but I love the way they dress up this tank. You’ll see from the rest of the week’s post that I am loving a very certain color palate this time of year that is not my usual go-to but apparently something I’m very drawn to now. Let me know your thoughts and happy (early) holidays!

Holiday Look Book: Berry and Bright

I’m taking a survey…. does it feel like Christmas is right around the corner to you? Because it does not to me. After you kind of grow up and stop believing in Santa there are only a few years following that actually have that exciting Christmas time feel to them. I always thought when I had children of my own that excitement would come back but it’s really lacking this year, ha! I think it’s because I’m waiting for a big snow storm… it must be SO weird to celebrate Christmas in a state that doesn’t have winter, ya know? I couldn’t imagine that, nor would I want to!

That awkward moment when your hair matches your necklace…haha! I love this necklace from Sterling Forever. The mix of pink and gold is to die for but the fierce spikes are just SO me. It adds just a touch of edge to an otherwise very feminine and classy outfit. IMG_9833 what to wear christmas

Matt got me this faux fur coat YEARS ago… I think maybe even our 2nd Christmas together? I’ve always loved it but I rarely wear it because I feel like such a Jersey Housewife in it, haha! Fortunately, fur coats have seem to make a comeback this year so I’m taking great pleasure in breaking this hot little number out of my closet every now and then.

Have you noticed that this is my go-to clutch yet? It’s not even the last time you’re going to see it in my holiday look book mini-series. I’m obsessed with it. So this is another look I might be found wearing on Christmas Eve. As I said in my last post, Christmas Eve is typically the more festive holiday for me, Christmas day and night are much more casual and relaxed. I love the berry hue of this dress, I paired it with my favorite berry lipstick from YSL and black diamond cocktail ring from Roman Luxe. I swooned over this ring for a loooooong long time before it became mine. It’s perfect for the holiday season, isn’t it?

Remember that time I was a model… kinda.

Hi my loves! It’s been a while, huh? Things have been so busy this past month or so. Getting ready for the holidays is a big job around here. So anyway! Over the weekend I had an amazing opportunity to walk in a fashion show for a wonderful cause! 100% of the proceeds went to a great charity, (benefiting victims of Hurricane Sandy which we all know is very close to my heart!) BOOM. Who doesn’t love that? I modeled for a friend of mine, Tina, who owns a fabulous boutique in Little Silver. (I’ve mentioned her store before). She has pretty amazing clothes and accessories and when she asked me to walk in her show I legit jumped at the chance. I was lucky enough to model with two of my best friends which made the night even more fun! Here is recap of the show in pictures. Enjoy!

(click on the images to view them individually!)

If you like the clothes you see you can visit her page for more information at Shop Uphoria :]

The fashion show was so much fun! All of the other models were super sweet and we all had a great time. I walked through the show itself at lightning speed because I was nervous… not the modeling debut I had always dreamed of, haha! HOWEVER, just having a baby less than 6 months ago and still being asked to walk in a fashion show Made me feel just lovely… can’t lie! I wore a sparkly gold peplum top and black leggings with my own black louboutins. I am obsessed with peplum this holiday season! And the added bling from the gold sequins? So amaze.

Also… last week I had the wonderful luck of getting to see Train live at a very private performance in Sea Bright! I danced on stage with the band. Pat signed a onesie for Char! Pure amazingness! I’m going to post more on that later this week.

Until next time, kisses!Â
