Spring is in the Air… Right??

My favorite meme so far this year said, “2017 sucked but at least it had a spring.” AND MY GOD. Have truer words ever been spoken? I was starting to get spoiled thinking New Jersey was no longer going to have long, horrendous winters, but we were so wrong. Winter started late and it just won’t seem to go away. Here and there we have been catching little glimpses of warmer weather and I am here for it. I’ve been changing my outfits 4 times a day just to get everything in before it gets cold again, hah.

We’ve been spending tons of time outside trying to soak up the warm weather while it’s here, and I’ve been forcing myself to sit outside and read as well. I started a book right after Christmas and I cannot bring myself to get through it! Actually, some of ya’ll have probably read it. The Sinner? It was made into a TV show this past year for TNT. I have yet to watch it, but I feel like I should because I am more than half way through the book, still incredibly confused, and bored. DOES IT GET BETTER?! I need answers. Anyway. This top was $10 at Forever21. It’s one of those tops that you can throw on with pretty much anything, jeans… if you’re brave enough (which I am not), overalls, over a bikini at the beach. $10 seemed like a pretty legit investment for this piece. The skirt is old, but I’ve linked to a very similar style above.

Cozy Knits, High Slits

Guys…. this dress is hands down one of the most comfortable I have ever owned! It fits so well, it’s super flattering, and it’s SO. DAMN. COMFORTABLE. Are you sold yet? Because you should be.

Side note… this is my last post with blonde hair!!! ::tears:: So many tears, haha. I absolutely loved being blonde…. it was my jam. My hair on the other hand? Not so in love with it. My hair took a serious beating over the past few years in my epic journey to becoming a blonde. It basically got to the point where it would just break off. I decided as fun as being blonde was I needed to give my hair a break and let it get healthy again. I’m now on a journey to go dark again. I’m the most fickle person EVER when it comes to my hair… seriously. But looking at these pictures makes me super sad… I’ll miss my blonde alter ego!

Anyway, back to the dress. It’s perfect for fall! The neutral tone totally compliments the season, the knit material makes it perfect for cooler temperatures. Throw on over the knee boots and a mini leather jacket when it gets cold and you’re good to go. The dress comes with a nude slip to wear underneath because being knit it’s obviously a little bit on the see-through side. Although the slip tends to ride up A LOT over my butt. I was already pretty well endowed back there, but my boyfriend who is a personal trainer has been kicking my ass hardcore at the gym the past few weeks and squats and lunges are basically his favorite thing in the world. I’m not complaining, your butt could always use the help… but my clothes are starting to fit a little tighter, haha. I would assume the slip doesn’t fall so short on everyone.

Let’s talk about this choker too! It gives me life. I love the choker trend but most right now are on the delicate side… which I also really like, however, it’s fun to go bold every now and then! I wore this to work last week with a bold plum lip to match and I got so many weird looks… I guess a bold lip & statement choker early in the morning are a bit much for some people (LAME).

Little Striped Dress

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I love a good t-shirt dress. I fell in love over the summer with all of the fun and flirty styles I was finding in every store, and I carried the trend over to the cooler months by throwing on some winter staples; tights and boots.

I’m obsessed with these sunglasses! Honestly guys I cannot say enough amazing things about the Ditto eyewear subscription service. I know I’m addicted to sunglasses, but even if I weren’t, this is an awesome service to try out yourself. Use my code THERACHELROSS to get your first month free at ditto.com! It’s worth the $24/month after that, I promise!

I actually put this dress on without the tights the other day and surprisingly enough I think I prefer it with the tights… which is weird, although I blame it on not having a tan at the moment. I think I will like it with bare legs and a pair of white Converse once I get some color on these stems!

Things are Looking Bright

I have way too many garments in my closet that look like I’m either going to a party at Hot Topic, or a funeral. They’re all very fashionable, of course, BUT I needed some more color in my life. Especially for this god awful hot summer we’re having!

When I stumbled upon this blouse last summer I instantly fell in love. I am kind of a sucker for anything a little bit more…. edgy? The tiny skull print is a dime a dozen thanks to brands like McQueen & Skull Cashmere, but this was vibrant, bold, colorful, and different. Had to have it! I usually wear it with white pants but I opted for a full skirt in a bright hue for a refreshing little change.

My love affair with mirrored shades continues. Do you think they have support groups for people like me? ;] Side note: I’m so over my 4th of July mani. I knew it was a terrible idea as it was happening. My next gel manicure will be a simple one. Mark my words!

I love this outfit for a little date night! There is something really lovely and romantic about a full skirt, isn’t there? Apparently the bandage look is out. I’m ok with that (it was an awful trend for my legs! ha) Full skirts are in and I’m 100% on board with it. If you’re heading out for a first date or just getting a night off without the kids (like me) go for a full skirt. They’re flattering and fun and so versatile! You can literally pair them with just about anything! Browse my first date outfit picks in my Mavatar collection below!
