Lady in Red

With my new career I’ve started changing the way I shop. I have to be smarter about what I spend money on and make sure it has a lot of wearability. This little red dress from Closet London stuck out to me because it’s wearable for a variety of different occasions. I can wear this to the office, weddings, holiday parties… pretty much anything!

This dress is so soft! It’s not one of those fits-like-a-glove dresses, which I’m actually pretty happy about. Sometimes I really need a break from sucking in all the time, hah!

The ties around the shoulder actually tie, which is lovely because it makes them adjustable! Also, it has pockets. Which is a win in my book. I am a firm believer that everything should have pockets. This dress is going to be perfect to get me through the next few months! I’ll be wearing it A LOT.

Word Up.

DSC_4847Following a weekend of camping it was really nice to dress up and go out to a nice dinner with my hubs! Well actually, we spent the day at the zoo with our little monkey as well. Which was a ton of fun! Appropriately, her favorite attraction were the monkeys. She’s cute. Like this outfit, no?

DSC_4839 DSC_4829 DSC_4828Girl’s gotta do some squats! WOAH. My ass is about 5 inches lower than it used to be… oh childbirth. It does wonders for you, doesn’t it? NAHT.  This shirt’s a super crop top in the front but longer in the back. It looked strange so I tucked it in to this high waisted skirt that I’ve had for years. It’s so comfortable and flattering. I need to find more like this. Actually most of my fave skirts come from Urban. I need to get back there. OH and if you haven’t noticed by now… this is my hair in its natural habitat. Took a break from the hair dryer and flat iron and curling iron and whatnot for about one day. 10 minutes later this was a nice curly afro. Thank you humidity, I won’t miss you when you go!

Last week was mine and my husband’s 3 year wedding anniversary! Holy moly time sure does fly! We typically celebrate somewhat the same every year on the actual night of our anniversary… a bottle of champagne and our wedding video. I have the same emotions every time I watch it! I switch between laughter and tears like every other minute. What a great day… In celebration of this momentous occasion here are a few of my favorite pictures from our wedding. :]

well then, that’s all for now! I’ve got a lot coming up for you guys! Gotta get to it. Until next time, kisses!

Monday… Boo you whore.

The title says it all. I’ve been so tired lately, I think I’m probably not drinking enough water. And since I’m tired I automatically assume I need more coffee. If you cut me open I’m sure a Dunkin Iced Coconut light and sweet would come out. Or a Starbucks “grande iced vanilla coffee with breve.” I feel like an asshole just typing that! ANYWHO. The point is, I’m tired, and that makes Monday a whore.

NMS_4477_2Brandy Melville is a sassy little bitch, isn’t she? I kind of love it. You can’t sit with us was just too mild of a shirt for me. I wanted to get a top that read “fancy as fuck,” because.. I mean… I am. But I was told by several people it was inappropriate for a mother. Psh, lame asses.

Oddly enough this outfit was super comfortable. Wore it all day and then night while out to dinner and drinks with a girlfriend of mine. We stupidly chose to dine in Asbury right near the Stone Pony, and they were having a huge show that night. Needless to say, the parking situation was less than ideal. This outfit may be made for walking but these shoes  certainly were not!

I’m not a huge crop top person… I do own a few, and have had a few since before I was ever preggo. A good rule of thumb with crop tops is the higher they are, the higher your pants/skirt/shorts should be. You don’t want to show too much, it’s just trashy. They also look cute over a maxi dress or under overalls. Which are apparently back in style, and I kinda love it. I really loved the 90’s. I was in my awkward prime. I’m glad it’s coming back and I can take another stab at the fashion! hah. Well I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Don’t let Monday get you down! There’s always Margarita Monday to cheer you up and look forward to!  ;] Until next time, kisses!

Black, White, and Red All Over

We were supposed to have this big storm that was going to come and break up this god awful heat wave we’re having… I haven’t noticed one yet, have you? My hair certainly hasn’t noticed less humidity yet either! I wore this dress on Saturday in hopes of it being a little cooler out than it was, no dice!

I’m kind of loving that the sun is making my hair even lighter… saving me a little self-inflicted damage I suppose! ha.. Anyway, I wore this little number out to dinner for my hub’s birthday. Another celebration! This time with the whole fam. I typically don’t enjoy birthdays, there is always so much pressure to make them “the best birthday ever!” It never works out that way, does it? But this year we had a nice relaxing weekend, complete with a couples massage, lots of wine, a little shopping, and LOTS of relaxing! Muy bueno.

OH and how exciting that the Royal Baby is on their way!! I heard a rumor if they have a girl they are considering the name Charlotte! And North West was born on Charlotte’s birthday as well. I think this is a sign from the universe that she’s destined for greatness! haha ;] Until next time, kisses!

Thursday Night Brights

Yesterday was my darling husband’s birthday, so of course I took him out to a little dinner to celebrate! I finally wore a pair of Louboutins I’ve had FOR-EV-ER and haven’t worn in for-ev-er either! They’re probably my highest ones, and I wore them all night for dinner and after-dinner drinks and didn’t have to change into flats or end up falling and breaking an ankle. Stella got her groove back ya’ll! #mommyproblems

This top is literally so old it may be on its last wear, ha! But it’s so cute, and comfortable, and looked killer with this white scalloped skirt I really couldn’t help myself! It’s really the perfect shade of blue. I dig it.

Notice my fab sunburn? I finally spent an afternoon at the beach. aaaaaahhh. It’s a crime to live so close to a beach and go as little as I do, I really waste it. Boo me. Well I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday and an even better weekend! Until next time, kisses!

March Favorites!

It’s that time of the month again! Let’s take a look at some of my current favorite things this month.

Sand Tropez by Essie – This is one of my favorite nail polish colors. I am so drawn to it because, honestly, I have no idea what kind of color it is. Is it a nude/neutral, is it a brown, is it tan? Like… what are you? I just don’t know. But whatever shade this is, it looks amazing when you wear it. I’m convinced it is the kind of hue that would work with any skin tone, pale to tan, I really don’t think you can go wrong with this one. Another A+ by Essie!

Thick rimmed Aviators – I have a really sick obsession with sun glasses. I haven’t quite reached Nicole Richie’s level yet, but give me some time and I think I may just get close. I used to never wear sun glasses because I hated the way they looked on me. I have a tiny, tiny pea head and I always thought they just looked big and weird on me. As I grew up, and my eyes got worse than they were, I realized I kind of needed them for my health…literally. My favorite shape of sunglasses are definitely aviators, I feel like they are universally flattering for any face shape. Right now I’m obsessing over thicker rimmed glasses like these two above. The tortoise shell are from Aldo and the black ones are Chanel.

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish – this is something I just dabbled in. I actually got this in a whole mess of samples from Fashion Night Out this past September and never used it. I had a LM tinted moisturizer that I really liked and when I found this buried beneath my makeup collection I figured I should give it a try. All I can say… is touché Laura Mercier. Flawless skin indeed. It’s a gentle exfoliant that after washing away makes my skin feel like a new born baby’s. It’s uh-mazing. Now… does it wash away black heads and clear up acne? Probably not. But whatever, it makes my face feel silky and I looooove it. BUT! Remember ladies, do not use an exfoliant every day because you are washing away essential oils and layers of good skin! (To read more about that, go here).

Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave – I know this is pretty random… a shaving cream and all, but I really enjoy it! hah. It’s one of those shaving creams that doesn’t lather, which can really take some time to get used to. To be honest, I didn’t really like that at first because I feel like without all the lather I can’t keep track of where I’ve already shaved and I go over the same spot on my legs like 100 times, so I will say it’s not for everyone. However, it’s super silky and as soon as I step out of the shower my legs already feel like I just applied a nice fresh coat of moisturizing lotion without applying anything at all. Bottom line, it makes your skin feel silky smooth and it smells FABULOUS! The scent is called “Cashmere Rain.” Now… does it smell like cashmere in the rain? I wouldn’t know because I would never be crazy enough to get cashmere wet, but we’ll take your word for it, Skintimate. Whatever the scent is (or isn’t) it still smells amazing.

Clinique Happy Perfume – Every girl has a scent for every season… and if you say you don’t, I’m just going to assume you’re a liar. It’s impossible to wear one scent all year round and I cannot wear heavy scents in the spring or summer. It is only natural to switch it up. I have two that I love, love, love for the warmer months. One is Ralph, that I haven’t had since High School but continuously ask for on birthday’s & Christmas (cough, husband & family, cough). And the other is my all time favorite, Clinique Happy. The name of this perfume really just says it all, doesn’t it? Just smelling it makes me happy! As soon as the weather hits like… 55 degrees I spray this ish all over the place. I wait all winter long for warm weather so I can wear my summer scents. This is the perfect smell for sun dresses and flip flops!

Sperry Top Siders – So, I’ve always had a love for these shoes but never quite knew exactly what I would wear them with, since they’re kind of boat shoes and I do not own a boat, so I never bothered buying a pair… I just admired them from afar, like a creep. On my most recent vacation I found a pair on sale in Florida and I was like screw it! I’m getting a pair… I’ll figure out what to wear them with later. Little did I know, you can pretty much wear them with everything. And let me tell you, they are the most comfortable shoes I own right now! (aside from Uggs, of course). These are perfect for March and April because it’s not quite flip flop weather yet but wearing these kind of let’s you get ready for summer without letting your toes freeze. They’re adorable and they come in a billion different color and pattern combinations. Do yourself a favor and invest in a pair if you haven’t already.

Those are a few of my favorite things this month that I am totally addicted to. A bunch of these things are playing a huge role in getting me ready for the warmer weather that is so close, yet so far! This time last week I was laying out in my back yard… today I’m actually wearing Uggs and a wool sweater. Hey mother nature, get your act together, please and thank you.

What do you guys count on to prepare you for spring and summer? What’s your current obsession this month?
