Skater Skirts fo’ sho.

The weather in New Jersey has been so back and forth recently. One day it’s nearly 70 degrees and I’m in a dress and sandals, the next it’s 40 and cloudy and I don’t want to leave the house. On those nicer days, I can’t wait to pack up my little one and enjoy the warm weather outdoors somewhere while it’s here!

The ‘Michael Jackson’ jacket is really growing on me, ha. It is proving to be an excellent jacket for spring! It’s heavy enough to keep me warm when I’m not wearing a ton of other layers, but it’s light enough to not overwhelm me when the sun is burning bright! I’m also thoroughly enjoying this skirt from ASOS! I love that it’s not tight, but full and feminine. Just be careful wearing a skirt like this on a windy day… I had quite a few unwelcome Marilyn Monroe moments!

Isn’t my boog such a little cutie? We were really embracing the wind on this day, hah! One of those days when you just give up on trying to keep your hair looking well kept at all, it’s just not even worth it! ALSO! My Pink Blush Maternity giveaway ended yesterday, and although she’s already been contacted I wanted to publicly congratulate my winner, Jennie! I hope you enjoy your gift card and your fabulous new purchase! Thanks so much to everyone who entered!!

Jumpsuit for Joy

Maybe it’s the kid in me, who knows, but I really love jumpsuits and rompers. They get me through the entire summer and when I find a sleek and sexy jumpsuit for fall and winter I get equally as excited. Add being able to find one when pregnant to the list and I’m just in Heaven! Thank goodness these exist!

I couldn’t help myself when picking out accessories, I needed the brights! When I found this jumpsuit online I immediately knew I was going to pair it with Schiap from Nars, and I had this necklace already, so the neon accessories just came together. I’m channeling summer here. It’s necessary. image-31 image-32

Jumpsuits usually remind me of summer since I’m typically found wearing rompers throughout the warmer months and I have a very summery jumpsuit as well. So when I saw this online I squealed with joy because who doesn’t love a sexy jumpsuit that can take you through cooler months? You don’t have to be 6 feet tall to wear something like this either, so get over that real quick. Just throw on some heels, find a pattern or color (can’t go wrong with black) that’s slimming, and you’re good to go. The one thing I will say, being pregnant and peeing every 15 minutes as I do, rompers maybe aren’t the best outfit choice for me, but whatever. I do what I want.

TIRED of the Winter Wardrobe!

I have officially had enough. I am not one to complain, I really don’t mind the winter and snow storms AT ALL, but this has been a really long winter and I’m just over it at this point, ha. I’m ready for bright colors, and warm weather, oh and for my baby to get here, DUH! But right now, I can’t help myself, I have to dip into some spring pieces, especially for a date night this past weekend when the temps fell just around 60 degrees.

IMG_0759 IMG_0761 IMG_0762 IMG_0763When I was pregnant with my first daughter, Charlotte, I never wore dresses or shorts. I was super self conscious about my body, which is why I rarely ever blogged. I gained a lot of weight, not a crazy or abnormal amount, just enough to make me feel gross, ha. Now that I’m taking better care of myself this time around I feel a little better, I feel like I can still show off the legs for a little while! We’ll see how I feel next month… ha!

IMG_0766_2 IMG_0770 IMG_0774 IMG_0779 IMG_0784_2I love this dress! The print is fun and the length and fit is super flirty. It literally makes me yearn for Spring so bad! Notice my light blue manicure, too? I really can’t help myself, I’m over winter. I refuse to wear dark nail polish anymore for starters. This shade is ‘Find Me an Oasis’ from Essie, it’s a gorgeous shade of blue.

Being able to wear this dress out without piling on the layers and wearing tights brings me an insane amount of joy! The weather we had this past week was just fabulous. Of course it’s cold again, and will be for the foreseeable future, but I have high hopes Spring is just around the chilly corner!

Shopping for Maternity Clothes 101

Hi friends! I made this video last year after having Charlotte. As I explain in the video, shopping for maternity clothes as a young mom-to-be can be quite challenging. They aren’t a ton of options out there that are affordable if you want to stay stylish. Here are my best tips!

Also! I want to add that ASOS has an amazing maternity section on their website that I did not know existed last time. I’ve already bought a few things this time around and they’re so cute! They’re so on trend and affordable, with plenty of options for everyone! Some H&M’s have a great maternity section too, but it is limited. If I can make one small suggestion, it is to stay away from Target maternity. While I generally love shopping at Target, their maternity section is disappointing. EVERYTHING is huge. Even the extra smalls run big which makes every item look loose and ill fitting.

Another tip, mix and match pieces that are maternity with pieces that aren’t. Don’t waste money on maternity pieces like cardigan sweaters and blazers and stuff like that if you never plan on actually buttoning them up. Your regular clothes should work fine for that.

These are a few of my looks from my first pregnancy. These are all towards the end, when I was about 7 and 8 months. In the first 3 looks the pants and shirts are all maternity (obviously). The blazers are from Express and H&M, not maternity. The maxi dress is Calvin Klein from Marshals that is not maternity that I wore throughout my entire pregnancy.

Well that’s all folks! I hope this helps some of you out. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions I didn’t get to in the video. Until next time, kisses!
