Weekend Hangs with my Little Ones

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own*

This past weekend we had a break in the cold weather for a couple days and I wasn’t the only one beside herself with excitement; my girls wanted to spend as much time outside as possible as well! We hung out at the park, cleaned out my car, had pretend picnics on a blanket in the front yard.. all in all it was a pretty great weekend.

Ok so full disclosure… while I do love spending time outside when the weather warms up, the thing I really get the urge to do is shop! As soon as it gets even a little bit warm I am overcome with the urge to go spend money… it’s terrible, honestly, but I can’t help it. I just feel like I have to buy a whole new wardrobe in like one day for myself and the girls! With that said… thank goodness for Groupon! I used to only use this site for deals on outings and getaways… I had no idea you could actually find free coupons on there. Yup, you read that right, FREE coupons for shopping! When you have three people to shop for instead of just yourself you could really use all the help you can get. I spend hours browsing this site and hoarding all of the coupons I can find… don’t judge me. You can find steals for stores and websites alike so even if you get the itch go shop on a cold day you don’t have to leave the comfort and warmth of your own home. Win win!

You can find steals for stores like Forever21, Kohls, Macys, Walgreens… all stores that I love to shop at not only for myself but for Char and Kennedy as well, and that’s just to name a few. If you haven’t perused Groupon for coupons yet, do yourself a favor and do so now! You can thank me later. ;]

Admittedly one of my guiltiest pleasures that comes from being a mother of two little girls is matching with them, hah. Charlotte calls us both “fashionistas.” One time she said to me, “Mommy, Kennedy doesn’t care as much about fashion and style as we do. She’s not a fashionista.” I don’t know where she comes up with these lines but she kills me. I can get my girls to wear almost anything if they know I’m wearing a version of it myself. If I asked them to throw on a pair of black sneakers in general they would both throw a fit, but if I’m wearing them they jump at the chance to match their mama… and I love that!

Some Impromptu Maternity Photos

Over the weekend I was playing around with my camera, tripod, and self-timer settings when my daughter discovered she loves being in front of the camera. I mean, she loves when we take “selfies” together, but this brought on a whole new level of appreciation. I was using her as a test subject and she loved it, it turned into a mini photo shoot and I wanted to share some of the pictures with you guys because they actually turned out pretty beautiful!

Please ignore the fact that she’s wearing Minnie Mouse pajamas & a tutu, it’s her “princess outfit.” And I’m in a sports bra & leggings… we really like to class it up on our days off!

Bumpdate: I’m 33 & a half weeks now! Crazy how fast this time goes. I feel like we JUST announced our pregnancy…. with Charlotte! haha. When you are on your second child, times moves so quickly! I’m not sitting around just waiting for a baby to show up anymore, I’m always on the go with this little one and work. Baby R #2 is going to be here before we know it!

Hope you guys enjoyed our little photo shoot! Don’t forget about my Giveaway with HYDROXATONE happening now! Visit my last post for all the details on how to enter! It takes about 30 seconds! Good luck!

Shopping for Maternity Clothes 101

Hi friends! I made this video last year after having Charlotte. As I explain in the video, shopping for maternity clothes as a young mom-to-be can be quite challenging. They aren’t a ton of options out there that are affordable if you want to stay stylish. Here are my best tips!

Also! I want to add that ASOS has an amazing maternity section on their website that I did not know existed last time. I’ve already bought a few things this time around and they’re so cute! They’re so on trend and affordable, with plenty of options for everyone! Some H&M’s have a great maternity section too, but it is limited. If I can make one small suggestion, it is to stay away from Target maternity. While I generally love shopping at Target, their maternity section is disappointing. EVERYTHING is huge. Even the extra smalls run big which makes every item look loose and ill fitting.

Another tip, mix and match pieces that are maternity with pieces that aren’t. Don’t waste money on maternity pieces like cardigan sweaters and blazers and stuff like that if you never plan on actually buttoning them up. Your regular clothes should work fine for that.

These are a few of my looks from my first pregnancy. These are all towards the end, when I was about 7 and 8 months. In the first 3 looks the pants and shirts are all maternity (obviously). The blazers are from Express and H&M, not maternity. The maxi dress is Calvin Klein from Marshals that is not maternity that I wore throughout my entire pregnancy.

Well that’s all folks! I hope this helps some of you out. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions I didn’t get to in the video. Until next time, kisses!

The Return of The Rachel Ross

Now there is just no excuse for it this time. I have disappeared for over 2 months! So welcome back to my blog, and a very Happy New Year to you! Since I’ve last posted a hand full of things in the life of Rachel Ross have changed. First off, let me introduce to you to….

Baby Ross! The hubs and I are expecting our first baby. 🙂 Oh and get this… the baby is sucking his or her thumb in this picture! Isn’t that the most amazing freaking awesome thing you have ever seen? I am so in love. Due to work being extremely busy and my complete lack of ability to keep my eyes open during my first trimester, I have pretty much lost all motivation to work on this blog. BUT! I am at 17 weeks now, work is slowing down after the holidays and I am back in action. So this is Baby R. My perfect little turnip (this week) sized baby. In 12 days we find out whether or not this baby is going to be a little mommy clone or daddy clone. I’m hoping mommy clone so I can bring her home in a Juicy onsie and Louboutin booties. Matt, on the other hand, is hoping it’s a boy… pretty much for the same reasons.

So my posts about wardrobe staples may be changing focus soon when I can no longer fit into my jeans. Truth be told… I already can’t. I pretty much live in leggings at the moment and as soon as it’s warm out I will only be found in Maxi dresses. So I guess this blog is going to turn into a Mecca for young moms who still want to be stylish. I refuse to be one of those mommy-to-be’s that gives up on hair maintenance and overall hygiene all together. Nu-uh.

So here’s what we have to look forward to: Tunesday’s coming back full force. More Book Club good reads. January cold weather favorites. Nail polish of the month. A pregnant girl’s New Year’s Eve outfit. And I will obviously be giving weekly updates about Baby R. Each week I get an e-mail that tells me what size the baby is; this week it’s a turnip. So if you hear me referring to my baby as a food, don’t be alarmed, that’s why! ;]

Hopefully this will hold you guys over for the day. I will be back tomorrow. Adios my loves! I’ve missed ya!
