One of the trends I have been so hesitant about trying has been menswear. It is SO HARD to get that looks right. Even the littlest bit of poor styling and you just look like a frumpy old maid. It’s intimidating. However, a few months ago I found a pair of Oxfords from Forever21 that were cute and SO comfortable and thus, my quest to find cute menswear inspired looks began.

I’ve always admired the way certain girls could pull off the Oxfords look but I never ever in a million years thought it would work for me. I found these patent leather ones from Forever21 and on a whim decided to try them on, and lucky me, they actually went with what I was wearing that day and a true romance was born, ha. They are seriously one of the most comfy pairs of shoes I own too, which is a HUGE win. I wore them into the city a few times for meetings and events and I may as well have been wearing a pair of orthopedic sneakers. Seriously. Anywho. One of my best tips if you’re going to dabble in the menswear trend yourself, (I only have one tip really since it’s my first time) try to amp up the sex appeal a little bit. I don’t normally wear a heavy smoky eye, but it felt right with this outfit. I also opted to keep the blouse un-buttoned a little bit and let the tie hang undone as wearing the shirt as intended seemed a little too put together for this look. So dress like one of the guys, but look like one of the ladies. The saucy ladies.
