NYE Look Book: Sparkle & Shine [part 2]

Yesterday I showed you guys a look for wearing metallics and sequins for New Year’s Eve. They were a little bit more on the casual side. In today’s post we’re going to spice things up a little bit in case your plans are much more festive. Let’s start with my favorite; sequins!

sequins

BLAZER: H&M (similar here, here) || TOP: FOREVER21 || PANTS: H&M || BRALETTE: VICTORIA’S SECRET || SHOES: GUISEPPE ZANOTTI || SHADES: RAY BANS || WALLET: TORY BURCH || EARRINGS: FOREVER21

Four things that will instantly kick your outfit up to the next level: super sheer lace, leather, sequins, and insane heels. Bonus points if you’re wearing all four of these at the same time, haha! When I bought this bralette I originally just planned on wearing it with loose white t-shirts but quickly discovered just how perfect it is for a lace top such as this. It fits like a sports bra, which is pretty amazing. It’s SO comfortable, but the criss cross straps across the chest are the sex.

IMG_1173I love the shit out of this sequin blazer…. excuse my french. But it’s so fun! I’ve worn it with white t-shirts and jeans, little black dresses, seriously anything. It’s a great piece to dress up the otherwise simple look, ya know? Also, these shades, obsessed. I picked them out for myself as a Christmas present because we decided to get Charlotte her own mini pair of Ray Ban aviators and I was like well………we need to match soooo…. ;]

To be honest, I’m probably not even going to do anything this NYE. Charlotte is still getting over bronchitis and I don’t feel like leaving her for another night, ya know? BUT If I were, I think this would totally be the outfit I’d go with. These leather pants are pretty much everything and the sequin blazer is my favorite. This is most my style for a night like this. However, that being said, sometimes we like to celebrate NYE the super fabulous way and that requires a dress/skirt. Let’s discuss that, k?

I actually randomly won this skirt through an instagram contest, true story! I never enter instagram/twitter contests, like ever, but I was scrolling and saw this skirt and I was like OH MY GOD #need. So I entered and I won! yay. Isn’t it gorgeous? It begs to be worn on a festive holiday like Christmas or New Years. The metallic pleats catch every little bit of light and legit make you shine.

This type of getup would be something I would wear to a fancy NYE dinner at a swanky little place and then out for post dinner drinks to watch the ball drop. That’s actually my favorite type of NYE celebration. A few years ago me, my husband, one of my best friends, and one of his best friends all went out to a fancy dinner for New Years and it’s probably the most fun I’ve ever had celebrating this holiday. If we end up doing anything at all this year, I’d like it to be that…… dinner at a nice place, early, and then have my ass home in my sweatpants to watch the ball drop comfortably from my couch, haha. Well! Whatever it is you end up doing, I hope you have a fantastic evening and pull a little inspiration from my posts and have a great time! Cheers to 2015, hope it is your best year yet!
