I mentioned before that I was falling fast for this whole emerald green trend this fall. Green is, and always has been, one of my absolute favorite colors! There are so many striking shades to be attracted to, and not to mention my eyes are green… so yeah, I’m partial to it. (blue eyes are so over done!)
Emerald green is all over the place this fall from the catwalk to the pages of every magazine and I could not be happier! According to Glamour the color is coming up on dresses in a big way. They even go as far to say it will replace the coveted LBD, gasp! Designers are always looking for a way to break the LBD mold, last season it was the little white dress. I’m all for it. Personally, you can never have too many little dresses of any color, so the more the merrier! If head-to-toe green isn’t exactly an easy look for you to pull off (as it may not be!) you can always try little accents here and there first. Once you’re more comfortable with the color, dive in! Christian Louboutin is all over this trend like white on rice. observe.
And yes, for everyone who is wondering, these two beauties have been on my Wish List ever since the day I laid eyes on them. True Story.
Moving on. US Weekly online did a fantastic recap of celebs rocking the green… we’ll forgive them for their momentary lapse in judgment when they featured Angelina. (yuck) I adore the way Emmy Rossum wore this shade and mixed in other jewel tones with accents on her dress and her shoes. Her classic curls, “look at me” eyes, and popping red lip? So pretty! She must have been feeling extra bold because she even rocked an emerald green clutch! I’m totally swooning over her look. She looks like a modern day Greek goddess. Amanda Seyfried optedfor a dress of the same shade, but a much more relaxed look. The pockets? I love. She not only looks amazing but also comfortable! I know we’re women and we’re supposed to basically kill ourselves to look good, but when you can combine style and comfort? Well, that is really just something to write home about isn’t it? Kudos, Amanda (and stylist), kudos! I also love the little hints of black piping to break up the color without taking away from it.
I must admit, unless I have some fabulous event to go to, I doubt I’ll be wearing this shade from head-to-toe either. How you can introduce it into your wardrobe little by little? Start by playing around with your makeup! Jewel tones look fabulous on your eyes and can add instant drama to an otherwise plane Jane look. Whoever the first designer is to come out with an emerald green blazer, puh-lease let me know! I will be all over that. Thanks!
So how do you feel about this whole trend? What else are you seeing for the Fall that’s peaking your interest? I’m a big fan of this whole cape get-up and all of the lace! The polka dots though… not so much. But it’s still early so we will just have to see! I have been known to change my mind quite frequently.
